"Saudi Arabia has launched an undeclared war on George W. Bush. This simple fact must be understood by policy and strategy elites, the press, and the general electorate. Otherwise, the Saudis may well succeed in their tacit campaign to sabotage the long term success of Americas war on terror, by engineering the electoral defeat of George W. Bush in November. President Bush has provoked this response by proclaiming his intention to encourage democracy and liberalism in the Middle East, to liberate the Arab masses from despotic rule, bring peace and prosperity to the region, and halt the spread of militant Islamic terror groups. Unlike past Presidents who, in varying degrees, paid lip service to these ideals, President Bush has acted decisively on them. His politically perilous actions, such as his invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, his conditioning support for a Palestinian state on the cessation of terror, corruption, and dictatorship, and his active promotion and support for liberal groups in the Arab world, have aroused Saudi fears and provoked a quiet counterattack."
FReegards...MUD
The amazing success of this administration has put fear in the hearts of other Arab nations, the liberals in this country, and in the news media. Therefore all three groups are praying for a Kerry win in November.
Y'know Mudbot, this POTUS had to have known his action(s) might precipitate the response we're seeing from the Saudis.
That they could very well jack oil prices through the roof to send a *message* thereby casting the administration in a bad light for the upcoming election.
There's *some* kind of strategy at work here, so let us all watch & see what kind of *influence* he can wield over these ungrateful SOBs to bring 'em into line with reality, shall we?
If there's ONE thing I hold his father responsible for, it'd be stopping Hussein before he could lay waste to that so-called country of robed ingrates.
No one knows how this is going to play out and I just wished people realized that gasoline et al has a "shelf life" & if not used within say, 30 days?
It'll spoil.
Then OPEC all the way down to the local gas station then can *eat* the stuff for all I care.
As far as frivoulous driving which'll burn more gasoline than necessary goes, or, threats of $3 per gal this summer goes?
Take *one* guess what I'm [not] going to be doing?
...just *one* guess, though. {g}
