Petition to Gov. Schwarzenegger to Arrest Mayor Newsom of San Francisco ^

To: Califonia Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco has violated California law by Marrying Same-sex couples in San Francisco. It is patently unlawful to issue marriage certificates to same-sex couples. Section 308.5 of the California Family Code plainly defines a valid marriage as being limited to one man and one woman. Furthermore, California Penal Code section 115 prohibits the knowing procurement of any false or forged instrument to be filed or recorded in any public office, making such an act a felony punishable by up to three (3) years in prison.
The Mayor of San Francisco is giving the middle finger to the State of California and the United States as a Whole. To make it worse, Mayor Newsom and the City of San Francisco has stated that it is suing the state of California, challenging its ban on same-sex marriages on constitutional grounds. By doing so, Mayor Newsom is proposing that every law that was not a constitutional amendment is un-enforceable. If he is not arrested, there is no basis for drug laws, the carrying of concealed weapons, prostitution, and every other law that is not written into the constitution of the state of California.
Please arrest this man.

What has me so jaded against attorneys? Other than the obvious, I will tell you.
First President Bush holds the same views and takes every opportunity to express it, fighting to lower the takes by lawyers on too many frivilous law suits and trying to tell us all that judges are making law.
Second, the numbers are beyond presenting here, the attorneys who are so willing to destroy individual and entire communities using The Environmental Species act to force the government to pay their fees by filing lawsuits based not on science, but loopholes against those who have no means to fight them. I've watched them lose their homes, their livliehood and their lives. Some committed suicide, others simply died of a broken heart.
Thirdly, experience with GOOD lawyers, yes they are out there. One is a friend, here on FR, who simply states, THE LAW is DEAD. Another who dared buck the established bar in Oregon so his compadres voted and disbarred this fine man. When one tries to actually defend innocence he is trampeled.
There was nothing short of a coup during the LAWYER administration of Bill Clinton. Every turn that was made was by and for attorneys.....it depends on what the meaning of the word..is, is. And what are the democrats going to do....try to elect 2 more attorneys as president and vice president. They need to be kept in the judicial system. Period. Ben Franklin agreed with me, so I am in good company. There is little in our society left that one is not forced to hire one of these barristers to get through. And it didnt happen by accident. And if you cant afford the best performer, you lose. It has little to do with the law, and nothing to do with justice. It is much like the mafia ran it's business, with "protection" pay offs.
I also recently served on a jury. The entire "lawyer" problem, is of course the fault of the people. All these other 11 wanted was to get home by 5pm.
The floor is yours, sir, I'm done with this thread.

Unfortunately, being a Democrat pretty much precludes him being honorable. I sincerely hope someone is preparing a recall petition on him. Evidently our state's liberal lunatics still don't "get it."
On the other hand, I'm glad Newsom has shown who he is so clearly and so early. I would have hated for him to be governor or president before going power mad.

IIRC Isaac and Moses did not have multiple wives. Moses married Zipporah and he had one son with her--Gershom. Exodus 4:20 says "And Moses took his wife and his sons (more than one) and set them upon an ass..." Later in verse 25: "Then Zipporah took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son (one), and cast it at his feet..."
How did Moses manage to have two sons if he only had one son with his wife Zipporah?
He must have had another wife (apparently a second-class wife as she and her son re not mentioned by name)

I think that Newsom should incur some civil liability for the expensive mess that this will be to clean up. He is clearly acting outside the scope of his jurisdiction. I think that fifty million or so should pay for his fifteen minutes of fame.

Wait I just thought of something. I am in love with a beauty of an AK-47 in Virginia, maybe this marriage can finally see us in wedded bliss living in the People's Republic of Kalifornia I think that your fiance might be illegal in California. ;-)
To: djreece
I heard on this evenings news that Arnold wants San Francisco to uphold the rule of law and has asked the Attorney General to step in. Bill Lockyer has replied "I am not the governor's errand boy".
This man needs to be impeached ASAP!!

I think that your fiance might be illegal in California. ;-) All he has to do is tell the court clerk that "AK-47" is the name of his sheep. Then the matrimonial wheels will turn.

I heard that too, and my blood is boiling!
He evidently needs to be reminded that he works for us, and he is our "errand boy" and we have the will and the authority to do something about his dereliction of duty.

I agree with you.
Hey, gee, and I guess this means that when the Wizard gave the Scarecrow that diploma, it didn't really cause him to have a brain... bummer.
To: abraxas_sandiego
Abrax THIS, dude. Our founding documents state that we operate on the principle that "all men are created equal." Not "all marriages are created equal."
All homosexuals can currently marry if they so choose, subject to the same restrictions the rest of us have (such as age restrictions.) They already have equal protection of the laws.
To: Devil_Anse
what planet are you on, "dude", b/c it's not this one...gays can't get married now, with certain exceptions (MA, SF).
To: highlander_UW
False logic here. Heterosexual and homosexual people have an EQUAL right to marry someone of the opposite sex.
The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.
