A benefit of Edwards win might be that the Kerry/Edwards ticket might be facing some future stress.
Kerry might need to fight Edwards and make him too weak to be his VP candidate.
To: Republican Red
Rumors that Kerry had had an affair - he flatly denied them - circulated on the Internet and became the focus on late-night television comedy. No, he very evasively denied them.

Hey Mr. Edwards! You gonna let that old philandering Horseface get away with that? C'mon. Grow a pair!

Edwards Dismisses Kerry, and said he would consider Kerry as a running mate on the Hardball interview last night.
You gotta love it.
Kerry will be out of this race once the real scam is exposed in Boston on Him and Teddy. The investigation on the BIG Dig is nearly complete, thanks to Bill Oreilly.
Keep the Faith GW will prevail with God's hand on his shoulder.

Obviously a lot of Wisconsin voters believe Kerry DID have an affair. I'd bet Kerry's internal polling was telling him that and that explains those statements from Ms. Polier and her parents on Monday.
What is Edwards up to? If he can't even win his own state in November, Kerry won't put him on the ticket as VP. He doesn't seem to have any chance of actually winning the nomination. Why is he hanging in?
To: OneCitizen
What else could he do? He's not running for reelection to the Senate and he has a lot of money to spend. He may well be positioning himself to run again in '08.

What was the percentage turnout of Democrats that gave Kerry this "huge" victory? Funny how that figure is never cited.

Nah, I thjink the fact that it was a close race was due to the fact that Kerry hardly even campaigned in Wisconsin, as well as the fact that anyone is allowed to vote in the primaries. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of pubbies walked in and voted for Edwards, just to help stir the pot. Another thought: Edwards was splitting votes with Clark, and may have gained some from that.

Somebody has to be there when/ if Kerry craters. Other thing is that this campaign gives Edwards face time/ national exposure for the next campaign.

Since anyone can vote in the Wisconsin primary, I don't think that statistic is possible. However, I read that 800,000 turned out last night. Don't know what percentage that is of overall population. 20% maybe?

The story is out there and, even if it is not true, it is a black mark against John Fonda Kerry.
To: katana
Lets just say if you read his book instead of dissing him you would know that Teddy the LIfeguard and Hanoi John,
had pushed through legislation that has a cost overrun of over 15 billion dollars. All paid to companies in Boston for a deep tunnel project.
This could be one of the largest frauds of all time, and the monies flowed to Mob controlled companies.

Once the campaign got down to two, the whole dynamic of the campaign changes dramatically. More people will pay attention to Edwards now. As they say in hockey, "Game On!"

I heard an interesting exit poll stat on Fox last night. Kerry and Edwards were even amongst Vets. Did anyone else hear this stat?
To: Quick1
If that figure is corrct and it represents turnout of Republicans, Democrats and Independents then it's safe to assume that the Democrat voter turnout was somewhat less than 20%. Kerry received about 40% of the total. Not exactly a mandate for the nominee.

I don't think I "dissed" O'Reilly by saying he's not my cup of tea. It's all a matter of preference. Thanks, though, for answering and explaining that the Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy (no offense to two great comedians) of the U.S. Senate managed to bilk the American public out of 15 Big Ones.

If Edwards starts to get some serious attention, what does that do to Terry "McAwful's" braying about the National Guard issue? Edwards "dodged" the draft because he was in shark city ( law school ) . The reason he tends to get a pass on this is because he looks younger than he is - the draft was still in force and he was eligible - a lot of people assume the draft was over by then.
The spinning that would have to take place to explain the hypocrisy here will be fun to watch ( maybe someone could post the scene from "The Exorcist" and paste Terry's head on the girl ).

I'm not sure of the poll you mentioned on Fox last night but Fox & Friends had some pollster on last week touting a poll showing Kerry beating President Bush 54% to 46% on National Security issues.
What no one mentioned (I found out through FR) was that it was 54% of the 8% that turned out to vote in the Virginia primary.
Beware of polls.

from Drudge to Fox to Ap nobody has posted the actual difference between the two Kerry - Edwards in their lead stories. was it 1% or 10%? the news people think everyone reads everything and they can skip details. For example, in this story Fox calls the race a nail biter, but no results. The crime is these bozos get paid for this crappy work.
