You two gentlemen have obviously never visited the FReeper Foxhole daily thread. If you had you would know how ridiculous it is that you even remotely question the character of freeper Professional Engineer.

PE would never, ever be disrespectful of our servicemen, especially since he himself is a veteran. Professional Engineer is part of our Foxhole family and shows respect to our current servicemen and women and our veterans everyday. We are proud and honored to have him as a contributor to our daily threads.

If you are unfamiliar with the FReeper Foxhole, let me share our mission statement which we strive to live up to everyday.

Our Mission:
The FReeper Foxhole is dedicated to Veterans of our Nation's military forces and to others who are affected in their relationships with Veterans.

In the FReeper Foxhole, Veterans or their family members should feel free to address their specific circumstances or whatever issues concern them in an atmosphere of peace, understanding, brotherhood and support.

The FReeper Foxhole hopes to share with it's readers an open forum where we can learn about and discuss military history, military news and other topics of concern or interest to our readers be they Veteran's, Current Duty or anyone interested in what we have to offer.

If the Foxhole makes someone appreciate, even a little, what others have sacrificed for us, then it has accomplished one of it's missions.

We hope the Foxhole in some small way helps us to remember and honor those who came before us.

Bottom line - The posting of the smiley graphic is good old American humor. It's how we get by, and have for years. Americans have a remarkable sense of humor. We see it all over FR on all kinds of threads. To think for a minute it was meant disrespectfully is absurd.

Actually you guys were MARRIED to those helicopters. I'd drive past the air station at Pendleton and there would be guys turning wrenches all hours of the night. And how can forget the teething troubles we had with the 53E? What a nightmare. Good bird now, though.

OK, then how about a whole column of GI's getting VAPORIZED by 152mm artillery shells daisy-chained alongside the road in Baghdad? If one GI getting blown up by a cannon is funny, that image should just have you rolling!

Or how about the Arizona? We could have a Japanese airplane fly over, drop one bomb in the magazine and BOOM! Over 1200 dead sailors and Marines in an instant. Now that would be funny too! You're right! There's all kinds of GREAT ZOT material out there!
