The Mystic River star was in South America, promoting the flick, when he was asked about the heat hes been taking for speaking out against the increasingly unpopular war in Iraq.
When Penn was asked if he considered himself to be a patriot, he replied, according to our source and translator, I am more patriotic than this president we have, who I consider a traitor of human and American principles.

I am more patriotic than this president we have, who I consider a traitor of human and American principles. Yeah, it's anti-American to prevent a dictator from killing his own people - after all, the left apologized for Stalin and Mao for years.

You know, the first thought I had when I saw Sean Penn enjoying a personalized tour of Iraq, shooting scenes of how great Saddam is was "Man, that Penn character sure is a patriot". < /sarcasm off>

Funny, I thought his postwar dispatches from Iraq were a sign that he felt some remorse for shilling for Saddam--I guess not!
The exportation of anti-Americanism these slimes trade in is truly disgraceful!

This just in:
Sean Penn more of a patriot than A bush.
Still debatable.
To: 11th Earl of Mar
Dear Sean,
I invite you to name three principles that you consider "American" and tell how you adhere to them more fully than President Bush. (This should be fun...)

Yeah, Sean, sure. You've done so much for this country...

Didn't Sean Penn play one of the leads in "The Snowman and the Falcon"? Seems he has rehearsed much more for the "traitor" than for the "patriot" part. That is, if he ever got outside his own skin long enough to view his positions objectively.
Sean Penn only plays "patriot" when that part is specifically written for him, and does not take into account his personal opinion.
To: 11th Earl of Mar
Mr Penn, would you please enumerate which principles you hold that are different from President Bush, and which you believe are closer to "American" principles than his? Would they, perhaps, relate to globalism, a woman's right to murder her baby, or global warming...? How about not protecting America from terrorism? Don't look now, but those are not values held by most Americans.
