I think someone else has already said this, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to have self-defense taught in the schools. They could do it one day a week in place of the regular gym class.
It might save someone's life.

It's a shame that something like this might be beneficial.
What is so striking about the video is how easily she went along with this guy, knife, gun whatever.
This is so sad.

Self Defense--
Just last weekend my 21yo girl came home with a story about a guy she met a gas station.. She said he offered to pump her gas in her car. Yes, she's a beauty.. I was telling her then: "Are you crazy--That guy could have been a Nut Case.. Don't ever do that again-- Pump your own gas.." Turned out the guy was just being nice and wanted a date.. Still, I worry... Self defense --I think you've got something there..

Awful. Just awful. I had a bad feeling it would turn out this way. The POS that killed her needs to die, and sooner, not later. Just wonderful the liberal justice system let this vicious b*stard out. Is this another example of liberals being "
for the children"?
Poor little girl and her poor family , Prayers sent for them.
When are we going to reach the point where we're fed up with this? When is enough, enough?
At the very least, the system needs to be changed to where if you are on any parole board, or you are a judge involved in the decision of weather a criminal is let out of prison, you agree to assume personal responsibility for the person you set free.
If your not comfortable putting yourself on the line because you believe the person is "rehabilitated", you have no right to put other people's lives in danger. There should be consequences for letting someone out, who shouldn't be out. The liberals can still practice their "rehabilitation" beliefs, but they'll have to gamble their own careers and futures on it , instead of the lives of innocent people.
This is so sad and enraging.

I don't know why you are adopting your unwarranted tone That would be the tone you started by your "unwarranted" comment of "Chill" in your clueless initial response.
but let me state it plainly: Nobody thinks King David belongs in Hell.
Get it?
Read post #579. I'm not responding to what people may or may not believe, just what they post. Get it?
He was trying to make a point to yet another poster and you leapt to the wrong conclusion.
And his point was invalid; and thus my response, to which you "leapt to the wrong conclusion", thus committing the error in judgement that you are attributing to others.

I lived in Fla several times but over 30 years ago. My son was an infant when we left Clearwater.. I loved Sarasota.. going over the sunshine skyway to the southern cities was always exciting.
I recall the city of Sarasota being so clean & inviting..I can see why little people like you & I love it & also why people of affluence are attracted to it. Isn't the circus hall or fame there? or is it RingLing?
John Travolta & Stephen King would prolly be decent neighbors. Not sure I would like Marilyn Manson however!!! Private Beaches are part of the build up on too many cities unfortunately... Water rights & public beaches are hard topics for many communities.. National Seashores have been the blessing in many areas.
If I ever had enough money, I would no doubt want ocean front property & would like to think there could be some privacy associated with it..
Well, it amazing how events like this draw people together.. I see people posting here in unity(well maybe the divergence is what/how to eradicate the POS) who a few days ago were at each others throat over Dubya's election etc.
I have followed most of your posts.. you express yourself with passion, determination, pain & frustration.
Hope you can find some peace through this all.. A little girl was brutally murdered and a city, state & nation share in the disbelief that such scum exist.
A thought I have is how sometimes friends, parents, spouses turn their backs to potential signs.. and often cover up and protect their kids or family members too early.
I believe in a God of compassion but a God that will have ultimate justice "then" but encourages His people to use societal justice at THIS time also.
Nice "meeting" and exchanging with you. I am off to my regular thread ATRW, where I "hang" during the week. Come join us sometime.. you sound like one who would enjoy & feel comfortable with us.

Dennis Miller's right on and the Judge is still saying he wants to get this cleared up by the media because it wasn't his fault. Of course it was his fault! He said the probation dept. didn't give him any information. The Probation Dept. is pointing fingers back at Rafkin. THE JUDGE DID NOT LISTEN TO THE PROBATION OFFICER. Their word should have been sufficient that Smith was dangerous.
Walk behind Carlie's car wash, JUDGE RAFKIN, you are accountable.
Further, I think the car wash was getting threats too so the cops said in a press conf that Evie's Car Wash did not employ Smith and they had nothing to do with the murder. EXCEPT, IT WAS ON THEIR PROPERTY. They might be liable to some degree and tied up in litigation whether they want to or not.

The principal thinks he Gregory Peck. He was still being a drama queen this a.m. on Saturday's today show. Tone down the drama, Mr. Principal.

"At least he is willing to speak out on this. More than I can say for most TV pundits."
Agree and am most appreciative that O'Reilly even 'goes there'; the attorney Van Ness he was grilling simply went from dumb to dumber as she attempted to defend the Judge - Libs never a good reason for doing what they do; only their feelings ie her commment that the wife had a baby to care for; yada, yada et al.
Anyway, I do wish O'Reilly, given his platform would take it up a level as to the who/what/why of this stupidity.
But he seldom uses labels - only recently and only on occasion, has he used even the Liberal word.
He himself is kind of all over the map and perhaps that is another reason he does not go there; he figures everybody else is as well. . .'I dunno!

"I must say, O'Reilly really nailed it tonight. I've never seen him this angry before."
It will be interesting to hear the 'pithy' comments from viewers on this show.
Probably those who have 'libfeelings' will disapprove of his taking on Van Ness; OTOH. . .should hear a chorus of Kudos!

Director of Community Service just said he has some pretty strong personal opinions ut he wouldn't comment on Judge Rapkin. So, they've made a gentlemen's agreement to cover Rapkin's behind. CS guy was just on local Fox.
On another channel, Rapkin stated that if a guy falls behind on child support, he can't throw him in jail if he doesn't have a job. WELL, NICE TRY, but this wasn't family law, it was CRIMINAL LAW and Judge Rapkin BLEW IT. Smith should get the LETHAL INJECTION, JEB BUSH should investigate and Rapkin and other heads should roll for not communicating. When there's a case file in front of you, that's all you should be focused on but Judge Rapkin probably had to get to the golf course. He's on edge and I don't know why they aren't using their public relations person instead of Rapkin himself. He's making things worse for himself.

I don't know why they aren't using their public relations person instead of Rapkin himself. In a twisted way, Rapkin probably thinks the national exposure will further his political career. He's up for re-election this year, and we will not forget.
You are right, he is a mess in front of the camera. In one of the clips last night, he was tossing and dropping files around on his desk.

I am so pissed about this that I can't even see straight.
PLEASE. Place me on a list of activists that will begin a campaign to remove this SOB Rapkin from the bench.
GWB and GOP Man (
MisterJDC@aol.com)
We should start a list of the worst soft on crime offenders and actively seek to have them removed from their judicial positions.
Perhaps this will send a message to the rest of the criminal coddling liberal activist judges that they better get their miserable acts together or THEY WILL BE NEXT!
They (liberals and liberal judges, politicians and legislators) sicken me to the point of nausea.
To: GWB and GOP Man
how about taking these judges and the perps and locking them in a room with victims' families...hhhhmmmmm...especially the family of Carlie Brucia

I don't know what to say. You've elevated public execution to the level of spiritual and cultural balm.
Makes them try to find some common ground to work together, rather than celebrate some fictional, overblown diversities
Hell man, we have churches, civic organizations, fraternal...all with the above as a stated goal, and you think it can be accomplished with public execution? I honestly don't know how to intelligently respond. I'm simply stunned.

It's the "real world" view of things. I am not criticising you, but you seem to want executions brushed under the rug. Nice and antiseptic, handled by professionals, out of site of the everyday public.
Hush hushed, so that in a way we can deny culpability, and say "It was just the legal system in action! I didn't pull the switch!"
I imagine a person from another world would be just as stunned by your arguments as my own.
