HOUSTON, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The tearing of Janet Jackson's costume was unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and was inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance.
MTV regrets this incident occurred and we apologize to anyone who was offended by it.

That disgusting pass for a half time show states volumes about how far in the gutter the entertainment world has descended. But more disturbing than that, it states volumes about where we are as a people.
Marketers do massive research to find out what people want and then they give it to them. This is no exception. It's disturbing to me that apparently marketers have found that most of us enjoy entertainment featuring vulgarity, sexual perversion, and disrespect to our nation's virtues (Kid Rock draped in a real flag).
Even the Super Bowl commercials which used to be inventive and clever have descended into nothing more than juvenile potty humor and sexual innuendo.
This is what the advertisers and producers think we, folks. And what's shocking is they may be absolutely right.

Actually in was a sunburst design held on by a piercing through the nipple (which was exposed).

Write your cable company to have it removed from Basic Cable.Well, then you might as well do the same to Bravo. They aired hours of Gay (a.k.a homosexual) Marriages during about the same time-frame.

Someone mentioned this on another thread: All TV stations (and radio) put in a delay in their live broadcasts in order to be able to dump the signal if something like this occurs. The fact that they didn't cut away from this, but they sure were able to cut out any and all coverage of the streaker (probably an MTV employee), tells you conclusively that this was planned.

Two more observations:
1) During the first rap song (was it "Diddy P"?), it seemed like every time the cameras went to a full-body shot, the guy would grab his crotch, and immediately the camera would switch back to his face. I think the producers were actually trying to avoid those moments, but the guy must have done the zipper-grab 20 times during his two-minute "song." So to give them credit, the producers had an impossible task.
2) We had closed-captions enabled on the TV, and at one point the lyrics became so raunchy that they stopped captioning them. It was if the captioners became disgusted, and just quit typing.

You're right about what Kid Rock did. However, he should take some time to learn about proper respect for and treatment of the flag.

A song with lyrics including "I'm going to get you naked by the end of this song" is appropriate, inoffensive family entertainment!!? I didn't say that 8-) I said that I was afraid that it was going to be presented that way. From what I've seen on cable this morning, that seems to be the way it is being treated. They're ignoring the rest of the program. We're desensitized to this as a society.

I have done a lot of sewing in my day. And I have never yet sewn an outfit that specified velcro attached bra sections. Nor have I ever seen such an outfit while shopping (but maybe I don't shop at the right places). Dancers are especially particular about their costumes being securely sewn because the movements they do can easily bust a seam when and where they don't want one busted.
I don't for a minute buy that this wasn't purposeful. How did Justin know exactly where to pull to remove the section? He reached for the exact spot that would cause it to happen--under her right armpit--and pulled it toward him. The shock on Janet's face was feigned.

To hell with MTV. Write your cable company to have it removed from Basic Cable. Good idea.

Thankfully, I did not see this asinine display of gangsta crap.
But I am reminded of a line from the brilliantly written play "The Boys In The Band."
That line is -- "Spare me the sight of your sagging t**s."
Odd that Rush's football comments were deemed more of an outrage by football bigs, than Michael's less talented sister's pathetic stunt.

Okay. . .forgive me for being a bit of a realist here. . .
Personally, I don't give a rat's butt what anyone pierces. I'm 31 years old, and I have plenty of friends with body piercings. Multiple piercings. In places that make me cringe to think about getting them pierced.
My point. . .about nipple piercing, from what I understand you pretty much have to *keep* something in it all the time. To the people who have said because she had jewelery on it was obviously planned. . .I'm sorry I don't agree. I have plenty of my friends who wear jewelery like that to please themselves or their partner. And they wear it all the time *shrugs*

I do concede to that point.
I read an article about the USS Cole when they were able to leave Yemen on it, and how the CO gave permission for the guys to play Kid's song "American Bad A$$" over the speakers. I was very happy the sailors had such a great song to scream at the Islamic A- holes as they left the port. If only they could have shot pork out of their guns at the arabs as they left too!

Would someone please tell me what good(other than for our own souls)not watching TV or certain programs does? Unless you are one of the ones with a "box" from the ratings group?
I personnally didn't watch the halftime show due to previous disgust with them.

There is not the slightest doubt that Justin Timberlake did his action intentionally. I've watched the replays several times, and there is simply no other explanation for reaching across her body, seizing the bra cup and taking it back to his other side.
Nor is it credible that JJ didn't plan for it.
Has she filed assault charges yet? I didn't think so.

This from MTV:
"Janet Jackson Got Nasty at the MTV-Produced Super Bowl Halftime Show Jaws across the country hit the carpet at exactly the same time. You know what we're talking about...Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and a kinky finale that rocked the Super Bowl to its core. P. Diddy, Kid Rock, & Nelly rounded out the halftime show in the midst of the greatest game on earth. MTV was Super Bowl central, so armchair quarterbacks, fair weather fanatics and fans of Janet Jackson and her pasties were definitely in the right place. So strap on those pads, keep your head down and get the full recap of The AOL Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime Show produced by MTV."
MTV is ruining America. Apparently they think this was "cool".
To: Bush Cheney
Yeah right.
Even without that exhibitionism at the end, Super Bowl 38 had the LAMEST half-time show ever.
