Yeah and where's the outrage from the N.O.W. gals! You'd think they'd be outraged. (sarcasm off)

Not exactly, but adults would usually send the children out of the room before tuning in the Spice Channel. Perhaps not before watching the Super Bowl.

Spice channel??? You see more on MTV everyday and PG-13 movies, then you saw at the Superbowl.

Now, there might be a "difference" between full nudity vs. partial nudity, but it is still nudity. And while I don't have any problem or hang ups about nudity, it is totally bogus to give it a complete pass.

From what the papers are reporting today, the streaker was wearing a g-string and shoes. But as I've posted in another thread, CBS' real problem with the streaker is that he had a gambling website written on his body. Obviously, nudity is no problem for CBS, but somebody trying to get free advertising is!

It was wrong for CBS to allow this to go out over the airways. They knew it before time and they let it go without a warning to parents that there may be some parts not appropriate for children.

You raise some good points. The thing is, if they're asked why they didn't have a parental warning on, CBS would say that they didn't know what was going to happen, which, as you know, is total Barbra Streisand. All these "events" are orchestrated down to the second.

Have fun next year watching your assigned one or two local games a week. I, on the other hand, will be watching ALL of the games. The NFL is not at fault. This is a VIACOM issue. They are the ones behind it, and they aired it, not the NFL.

LOL!That's what's so very creepy about Janet & Justin's clumsily contrived "clothing accident": A 40-something has-been diva decides to spice up her faded image & generate some "buzz" by baring her breast in front of an audience which includes millions of...ahem...young children? But then, maybe that was her point. She is her brother's sister, is she not? Good grief! Is everybody in that freaky family a raving pedophile?

Probably Jackson and Timberlake will admit they didn't want to do it...that it was in their contract and HAD to.

According to the LA Times, entertainment reporter Pat O'Brien interviewed Justin Timberlake right after the incident. Justin said he did it to "give people something to talk about." Of course, he changed his story quickly enough to a "wardrobe malfunction" as soon as the firestorm started!

Hmmm not so fast---at least on my 'puter there's the dreaded red "X" on the top one. Bottom one is fine.

Well, actually I commented on that too, though I quickly dismissed it, not for the purposes of plausible deniability, but for the fact the executives at CBS/MTV/Viacom probably never got that far.

CBS/MTV/Viacom execuSCUM: Nudity in the Super Bowl halftime show?
CBS/MTV/Viacom execuSCUM: BRILLIANT!
CBS/MTV/Viacom execuSCUM: Janet Jackson's nipple exposed on national television.
CBS/MTV/Viacom execuSCUM: BRILLIANT!
CBS/MTV/Viacom execuSCUM: Not provide a warning to parents, just in case they don't want their kids watching.
CBS/MTV/Viacom execuSCUM: BRILLIANT!

So, you would only be right if I conceded they got that far. I mean, hey, these are the same people that employee Dan Rather. What makes you think that they give a flying flip what they spew?

Part of the reason people continue to argue with you is that you are taking the same stance that CBS, the NFL and MTV are, in that it was merely an accident. This contradicts what people saw. For the three companies that produced the display to lie about it is to play the people for fools. They are trying to downplay their attempt at shock value not by apologizing and taking responsibility, but by deeming the viewers idiots who will believe anything told them.

Great post! Anybody who believes that exposure was an accident probably also believed Clinton when he said he did not have sexual relations with that woman.

So Mary, what do you suggest?

Should we make "suggestive" dancing a crime?

BTW, which "good old days" are we talking? Pre-1920's? (don't forget the Roaring 20's) or do we need to go back to the Victorian era?

'Wardrobe malfunction'...
Actually, the breast was supposed to remain covered,
while the rest of her clothes fell off.

For what it's worth, I've been trying to reach CBS via phone for the last hour. The line has been busy the whole time -- something tells me that we're not the only people peeved about their halftime show! I'm doubtful any changes will happen at CBS, though -- as you point out, this is the network that has Dan Rather!

Support the FCC!! I plan on e-mailing every commissioner and supporting their action in this matter! This was NOT an accident. You don't stand with the torn material in your hand defiantly looking into the camera if it is an accident! If you're the female, you don't position yourself to make it easier, and wear a pasty to boot! SUPPORT MICHAEL POWELL!!

FCC CHAIRMAN POWELL CALLS SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW A

“CLASSLESS, CRASS, DEPLORABLE STUNT.” OPENS INVESTIGATION

FCC Chairman Michael Powell today issued the following statement:

“I am outraged at what I saw during the halftime show of the Super Bowl.  Like millions of Americans, my family and I gathered around the television for a celebration.  Instead, that celebration was tainted by a classless, crass and deplorable stunt. Our nation’s children, parents and citizens deserve better.

“I have instructed the Commission to open an immediate investigation into last night’s broadcast. Our investigation will be thorough and swift.”

but shouldnt every moment of every day be worship time for God?

Yes if you have the time. But the Bible clearly says to remeber the sabbath and to keep it holy.

It would be nice to not have to work then I could dedidcate myself full time.
