this may came as quite a shock to you but there exist an entire subculture out here of families who do not expose our children to pornography...as a matter of fact we try to be very diligent about sexual matters...we think it best to let them be children for as long as possible...

Who needs Al Quaeda when we have Janet Jackson trying to destroy America from within?

CBS has issued a "statement" (now on drudge). Says they "deeply regret" what happened. And that CBS officials sat through rehearsals all week and there was no indication the nudity was part of the skit.

It is unlikely there was a law broken since she was demurely covered by a pastie! Oh, I don't know... wouldn't there be an age restriction on who can get into a strip show?? Were there children in the stadium??
It's worth a look by the Houston area lawyers.

Evidently, the millions of Americans who have never seen a breast are out now roaming the streets, with unbridled lust oozing up to the surface! Lock your doors, hide your daughters! We just saw a breast with a pastie on it! Oh, the humanity!

Having lived in Oklahoma for a couple years, and frequented Texas, you might be surprized at how different the laws are in Texas.
Like I said, she may have just done this in the "wrong" state.
Regardless, it is worth reporting it, worth fighting it and we are good at doing this. We don't give up when we believe in something.
We are so sick to our stomachs to know that a "sporting event" viewed by "families" with little kids watching, turned into this.
It went to far! WAY TO FAR!
It was indecent exposure, and our grandkids saw it.
To: NYCVirago
And yeah, I do kind of expect an event on network TV that's supposed to be family viewing to not have nudity. That's the way it *should* be, and was many years ago, but I cannot understand how anybody could not have seen this coming. Haven't you ever seen those body spray commercials?

But you know the worst thing? It's been done now. Next time there won't be an uproar. You've got their number, alright!

The ONLY way to stop this is to boycott their advertisers! THEN they will get the message. Good idea. This is actually an easy night to find out who the advertisers are, since every local paper will have stories about the Super Bowl ads tomorrow.
To: varina davis
No indication? Horse hockey.
To: mewzilla
I agree.
To: Lijahsbubbe
Just think of all the kids watching this today. It was a sporting event. It was the SUPER BOWL! If that isn't a FAMILY EVENT what the heck is?

And that CBS officials sat through rehearsals all week and there was no indication the nudity was part of the skit.Gee, they didn't get a clue about MTV's press release about Janet's shocking moments? Or about the lyric line "I'm going to get you naked before the end of this song"? What liars.
Interestingly enough I asked my husband to switch channels during the half time show. I instinctively knew it would be bad because it belonged to MTV. My 9 yr old son was really interested in the game for the first time this year! Thankfully we changed the channel! They could have produced an awesome show with awesome music without this garbage!
MTV will show off this event as if it's a TROPHY! Look at the front Page! Janet Gets Nasty!

At least Moonves took it off. I'll give him that.. but the word is that top Execs approved this.
They allowed children to be exposed. That is child abuse. Plain and simple!
To: unspun
Isn't it great that America wants to show the world just how depraved we've become?

Yes: This simply plays into the hands of our enemies.
