"One of the proudest moments of my life, even though I have done so little, my son is aware of the struggle."

Kids are aware of more than you might imagine. They have a rather simplistic world-view, especially the very young, but with the right guidance they can be serious powerhouses. We discuss many things with our kids, including the why's and wherefore's of what is happening in the world. I don't know how they will turn out, but I expect to be proud of them. Just gotta keep them from being overwhelmed by the dark side.

Drat! I was trying to follow the serious discussion on this thread when you posted this pic. Dayum, that's a good looking white boy - and I'm a Viggo fan!

I knew Sean was doing something w/the government and looked it up. He's on the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation. http://www.whitehouse.gov/kids/presidentsday/

If I recall correctly, Sean didn't say that he didn't believe in fighting for something, he said (paraphrasing here) that he didn't want to impress upon the boy that fighting was the only way.

I was a bit disappointed as well. I thought he'd come out stronger, given his appointment.

I agree with whoever said that the commentary on Two Towers was not as good as the commentary on the first movie. I can accept that people have different ideas about policy, but these guys (excepting John R-D) were just your typical intellectually shallow liberals, and really not worth spending too much time on.

He is wearing his arm guard on the wrong arm and he going catch a lot of sleeve with that string. Other than that, he's quite an elf.

They both look like dizzy coeds who bleach their hair but don't think people will wonder why their eyebrows are so dark.

Rhys-Davies has the advantage of being a well-respected actor all over the globe; even if Hollywood won't accept him, he'll still be able to work everyone else. He's made a lot B movies over the past twenty years, but the attitude in Europe over those is different; there isn't a stigma attached to them, but are accepted as coming with the job

BTW How many other people also remember Rhy-Davies that originally played the Kingpin, in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk?

Well, it seems to me that SF fandom is pretty over the map in terms of politics, but that lefties tend to dominate convention panels. Worse yet, leftists-not merely liberals but extreme, off-the-radar leftists-seem to make up the majority of new writers. Some of the interviews of people like Kim Stanley Robinson and Chia Mieville are just appaling.

Thanks for the pic, I don't have any of Orlando as Legolas--I stole it and put it in my hotties screensaver slideshow folder. Here's a rare one for you....

He was also in "I, Claudius." Do you remember his character's name?
