Democratic presidential front-runner Howard Dean blew his stack at an Iowa voter on Sunday who had asked him to end his "slam, bam and bash" rhetoric attacking President Bush. "Please tone down the garbage, the mean-mouthing of tearing down your neighbor and being so pompous," said Dale Ungerer during a question-and-answer session initiated by Dean after he had delivered his standard stump speech at the Oelwein Community Centre on Sunday.
Dean's response was calm at first, telling Ungerer, "George Bush is not my neighbor."
But when the Iowa Republican stood and tried to interrupt, Dean shouted: "You sit down. You had your say. Now I'm going to have my say."
According to Reuters, Dean railed, "George Bush has done more to harm this county right here with unfunded mandates, standing up for corporations who take over the farmers' land, making it impossible for middle class people to make a real living, sending our kids to Iraq without telling us the truth first about why they went."
Then, in a particularly ugly sound bite, the Democratic front-runner added, "It's not the time to put up any of this 'love thy neighbor' stuff."
"I love my neighbor," Dean insisted. "But I'll tell you I want THAT neighbor back in Crawford, Texas, where he belongs."
The episode marks the first time that the short-fused Democrat has lost his temper in public during the campaign, although last month he admitted he sometimes gets so angry he needs to be physically restrained.
"If someone punches me I am apt to chase them down, and I need to be restrained by the people who know better and have been in the game longer than I have," Dean told MSNBC.

Is it just me or does saying that any individual is not my neighbor not repudiate everything Christ came to earth to tell us?
I'm not sure Howie is a Christian in any sense of the word. And I don't believe you have to be nice all the time to be a Christian. But I always thought that the Golden Rule applied to all of our fellow men, women, and children.

This wonderful soul, Dale Ungerer, deserves some huge KUDOS for giving Dean the opportunity to expose his nasty, pompous, short fused and ugly underbelly to the nation. Hehe. YOU GO DALE!!!! HURRAH!!!!!
May Dean's comments, especially the one dealing with 'enough of this love thy neighbor stuff' become the mantra of the DNC. (Certainly the shoe fits, exceptionally well!)

"Weasley "Jack 'Ripper'" Clark also has mental stability issues."General Jack D. Ripper: Mandrake, do you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk... ice cream. Ice cream, Mandrake, children's ice cream.
Group Captain Lionel Mandrake: Lord, Jack.
Ripper: You know when fluoridation first began?
Mandrake: Aye, no, no. I don't Jack.
Ripper: Nineteen hundred and forty-six. Nineteen forty-six Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? Its incredibly obvious isn't it. A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works.
Mandrake: Uh, Jack, Jack, listen, tell me, tell me, Jack. When did you first...become...well, develop this theory?
Ripper: Well, I, uh...I...I...first became aware of it, Mandrake, during the physical act of love.
Mandrake: Hmm.
Ripper: Yes, a uh, a profound sense of fatigue...a feeling of emptiness followed. Luckily I...I was able to interpret these feelings correctly. Loss of essence.
Mandrake: Hmm.
Ripper: I can assure you that it has not recurred, Mandrake. Women uh...women sense my power and they seek the life essence. I do not avoid women, Mandrake.
Mandrake: No.
Ripper: But I...I do deny them my essence.

Granted Dean showed really bad form by losing his temper. However unless I'm mistaken and this had been found to be false, the person shouting at Dean according to Fox News, was a Republican who somehow made it into the rally. Again if this is case, I think it is wrong for us Republicans to interfer with the Dem's nominating process. Even if they employ this dirty tactic when we are vulnerable. I know there are some states that allow people of differing parties to take part in the other's nominating process, but as far as I'm concerned which one of the Nine Stooges the Dems pick is totally up to them. I would also point out that the two front-runners in the Democratic field, Dean and Clark, have both tripped over their own mis-statements and are reeling off more than enough rope to hang themseleves in the general election. Clark's lastest goofs include a guarantee of no Sept 11th scale attacks if elected and a claim that Bush' No Child Left Behind is designed to destroy public schools.

I think Clinton is a coward and would run from a fight. I recall that he did just that in Somalia.
