Dean Blows Stack During Iowa Q & A

Democratic presidential front-runner Howard Dean blew his stack at an Iowa voter on Sunday who had asked him to end his "slam, bam and bash" rhetoric attacking President Bush. "Please tone down the garbage, the mean-mouthing of tearing down your neighbor and being so pompous," said Dale Ungerer during a question-and-answer session initiated by Dean after he had delivered his standard stump speech at the Oelwein Community Centre on Sunday.
Dean's response was calm at first, telling Ungerer, "George Bush is not my neighbor."
But when the Iowa Republican stood and tried to interrupt, Dean shouted: "You sit down. You had your say. Now I'm going to have my say."
According to Reuters, Dean railed, "George Bush has done more to harm this county right here with unfunded mandates, standing up for corporations who take over the farmers' land, making it impossible for middle class people to make a real living, sending our kids to Iraq without telling us the truth first about why they went."
Then, in a particularly ugly sound bite, the Democratic front-runner added, "It's not the time to put up any of this 'love thy neighbor' stuff."
"I love my neighbor," Dean insisted. "But I'll tell you I want THAT neighbor back in Crawford, Texas, where he belongs."
The episode marks the first time that the short-fused Democrat has lost his temper in public during the campaign, although last month he admitted he sometimes gets so angry he needs to be physically restrained.
"If someone punches me I am apt to chase them down, and I need to be restrained by the people who know better and have been in the game longer than I have," Dean told MSNBC.

isn't that a shame for a supposedly leader to have that attitude? To steal a line from someone from Dean's end of the political spectrum (not to mention temperament), "How many divisions has Vermont?"

Well, we know a good running mate for him now. With Alec Baldwin, they'd have the angry liberal metrosexual vote all sewed up.

"George Bush is not my neighbor."
What a disgraceful response for someone who just claimed to be a follower of Jesus.
Dean is a loose cannon.

It was a physician that passed by to the left after all. I think I know that reference... it's from... somewhere... in the Old Will and Testament.
My favourite Old Testament book is the Romans... I know they were in the Old Testament, cause they're really old.

Hey folks, it's time to listen to this bag of wind! So many people who honestly DO NOT KNOW to whom their vote should be cast...are actually listening to this stuff. I'm talking especially about older people who don't surf the internet and don't have cable tv. It's scary. Lot's of voters actually BELIEVE the crap they get on the mainstream media. My own father is one of them, and there is NOTHING I can say to change his mind. If you're a Democrat, you must be a good guy!

Ack! He's imploding too soon.
According to Dr. Dean, that "Love your neighbor" stuff is Old Testament theology which doesn't mesh with his new found beliefs.
Furthermore, Bush should just sit there and take it like Job did.
I agree that GWB should sit there and take it, and not even mention any of his opponents by name, at any time, until the (re)election is over, except for formal address during the debates.
I think Dean will manage to get the nomination, because every such outburst just fortifies his true believers. I don't think the implosion is going to stop until October or November.
I just love how Dean tries to pass himself off as some kind of common-man wed-to-the-land Cincinnatus.

In the electoral college of 538 divisions Vermont has the bare minimum of 3 for elections in the 2001-2010 time period. 6 other states (Alaska, Delaware, Montana, N Dakota, S Dakota and Wyoming) and DC also have the minimum 3.

The Doctor sure does seem to try and emulate the "slick", however, Dean seems to have none of the good old boy charm about him, that served "slick willie" so well.
This outburst reminds me of McCain. I look for the other 8 donkeys (includes Hillary) plant lots of Republicans to ask the good Doctor more questions about being mean to his neighbor President Bush.
