"If you believe that, then I've got some oceanfront property in Alberta to sell you."

And I hold a 3rd mortgage on the Brooklyn Bridge ......I will sell at 90% discount:)

He said this program requires these TEMPORARY workers to return to their country when the work is done.>>>>

For the umpteenth time, I'll throw in my 2 cents worth on immigration.

I don't resent them for coming in, I'd be doing my best to get in too. I do resent my own country taking from me to pay them for coming. If we did not offer free healthcare, education, foodstamps, welfare and every other incentive to come here at our expense then ONLY those that are willing to work, pay taxes, and make themselves good citizens would be here. It is the fault of the socialists that we are being overrun, not the immigrants illegal or otherwise.

**The comment about jobs we won't do was just astoundingly bad. **

Will you do migrant work for less than minimum wage?

They will if they are paid decent wages. Several people I know are waiters, waiteresses and gardeners and they make more than I do in nursing.

Oh there are those Freepers who just live and breathe in anticipation of the president doing something with which they can disagree.

Today's their day! No doubt about it......they just want to round up the people and put them in camps awaiting due process.....or perhaps they ought not get due process either.

Another possibility is to bring the troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan and put them on the border between Mexico and the US.....

He is now applauding their illegal entry and how "brave " they were.

I could not believe I was hearing that! Disgusting is right!

I know that is why Great Britain had a standing Army -- to secure their borders. They had to have an Army in case the Panzers crossed the English Channel.

To ensure that they wouldn't have to see their culture and political order overturned, and have to learn Spanish, er, German?

Invasions come in different forms, but the practical effect is the same. People seeking jobs are not as destructive as Panzers, but the long term cultural effect of taking in waves of unassimilated people will much more powerful than any column of tanks.

I'm 100% for taking in tons of immigrants, so long as they come here legally and do not learn that breaking the law has no consequences.

Cant get myself to watch the whole thing especially when he starts out with this storytelling about some wonderful marine who is hispanic. Please, does his speechwriter really and honestly believe that we buy that crap?

Bush could tell a lot more stories about illegal immigrants who have committed horrific crimes than about ones who are serving in the military

It's all just BS

This is where you are wrong.!!!

Forget this issue for a moment. Would you agree that his promising 15 billion dollars in relief to help solve the AIDES epidemic in Africa is pandering? I do. If it really solved the problem I might think otherwise but that 15 billion will go down a rat-hole. And I think this is pandering for votes too.

My work product is knowledge, and an unskilled worker could simply not step into my shoes without years of education and experience.

They are educated foreign workers. Let's let them into the country without papers, too, so they can lower your wages.

You have a point. I was just suggesting a possible scenario. I am concerned about the health issues this will bring into the country -- as if there aren't enough already!

better than we have now?? that akin to saying "gee having this shark bite off my arm sucks but its better than when he was chomping down on my leg." Its meaningless window dressing which is going to hurt alot of working families. Thanks Dubya.
