Globalization by either party, some choice

Is it really when one makes an attempt to control who is here and the other could care less? The only way this could work is if we simultaneously secure our borders and enforce the law on firms hiring illegals. Short of that, we are simply inviting more to come as happened after Reagan's immigration reform.

You're acting on the false assumption that they will STILL be illegal. They won't, under the new plan if they do the things that are spelled out in the plan. I'm not making a judgement on it, I'm just stating the fact.

He said this program requires these TEMPORARY workers to return to their country when the work is done.>>>> (hildy)

One 'anchor baby' will end either parent returning to their home country.(txdoda)

DING-DING-DING!!!!

We HAVE a winner!>>>>>>>>>>>>

Well, thank-you, but I just got the RIGHT post in at the right time...........;o)

but, I would hope that all would continue to raise this 'Anchor Baby' issue with their own 'congress critters', as this is the number one LOOPHOLE the invaders use to fight any deportation *if* they are caught.(taxpayers also PAY for most of these births)

To believe 'guest workers' wouldn't use an 'anchor baby' to REMAIN in the USA is absurd.

Yes, the sooner they push us to the brink the better, then there will be at least some semblance of society left to react and pick up the pieces. This slow slide into fascism that the Republicans are pushing is perhaps more dangerous. It is so incremental that by the time the nation grasps what is going on it may be too late.

In any event the outcome will be the same, it will just take longer.

Do you think that the Republican party will hold power forever? Once Bush has started down this path the Dems will widen it to a eight lane highway. Whatever limits he sets up will get tossed aside in the end. That is why Rove's "positioning" on areas like Medicare and CFR is so irresponsible. Rove has to know this - he does not care. So to say that Bush's approach is better than "a Dean or a Clark" rings pretty hollow to my ears.

The whole lot of them are elitists and globalists, they are just infighting among themselves for power in the new order. They could care less about the nation or, more to the point, they have given up on the nation. What is the difference between Anti-American global socialism via the UN and "Post-American" Global Corporate Statism via the NAFTA/CAFTA/WTO/IMF/World Bank? The two parties are just working opposite sides of the same street.

We have lately seen the first Amendment and the 14th Amendment brutally savaged and my guess is that soon it will be the second amendment's turn. Where was the outcry from the Republican Party? They all have contempt for this nation and only what to rape and pimp her.

Bush has essentially said that he views this nation as a labor market, not as the home of the American people. It is too bad as I had really admired W. He has placed ambition before the country and I fault him for this. He is just another opportunist.

So yes, even Clinton would be better, at least we know who the enemy is. When Republicans do the dirty work for the Socialists all hope is lost.

(Though I will say that I see no hope of turning the Republican Party around. At least they will know that they cannot count on Conservatives like the Dems count on minorities. At least it gets them out in the open for what they really are and it let the partriots know what little power they really have in shaping events and thus allows them to make meaningful plans. If one cannot save the nation one might still save one's own rump. That may be all we have left.)

You're acting on the false assumption that they will STILL be illegal.

Bush can make a new type of legal --- one who would sit patiently and wait for the government to process their applications, perform a background check on them, and get them a blue card. But whose going to wait for our government to process the tens of millions of applications it's going to be receiving? There will still be the illegal class who is neither a regular legal or a blue-card legal. Plus you bet that there will be a lot of fraudulent blue cards --- from the same ones as making and selling fake documents now.

Certainly not across the board, although you might be saying 'yeah, right-on!' to the comments of a bunch of cyrpto-anarchists and closet-communists who are goading you on into a self-inflicted emotive swampland.

President Bush's proposals were well-presented, and covered all aspects of civil and social responsibilities required of all parties, all in an effort 'to form a more perfect union.'

There's a reason Rove is 0-2 in Michigan, and why he polled less than the "weak candidate" Dick Posthumus.

This just cost him Michigan AGAIN. In my town right now, AB Electrolux is in the process of holding up the Union, the city, County and State hostage. They gave the City until last Monday to propose cost cuts that would allow them to still operate in the State versus moving to Mexico.

The City is supposedly going to offer them Property and tax abatements to build a NEW factory that would eliminate 1/2 of the current jobs.

The Corporation is supposed to let the City know by friday what they decided. 2700 jobs. Almost 1/3 of the City's Population.

This Amnesty deal will make a few of those folks think about who they should vote for... Companies leaving and Illegals being granted amnesty.

And before anyone jumps on me for that statement, allowing someone to stay in a country they snuck into is amnesty. Whether it is permanent or not is yet to be determined.

Maybe that's a big problem among those whose identity and sense of self-worth and purpose in life has been so much shackled to their self-inflicted angst against humans they deem as ILLEGALS, that once there are no more ILLEGALS they face a certain, dreadful, and apoplectic Dark Night of the Soul.

Who is "they"? Will we ever know who "they" are?

"They" have broken the law. Why would "they" now obey the law?

And what about the "others" who are not included in "they"?

If the "others" can't get to be part of "they", won't the "others" become an "illegal they"?

So America will end up with "they" and the "illegal they".

Should we then legalize the "illegal they" so that we can have one big "they"?

How many "theys" should be legal? Twenty million? Thirty million?

If we count China, how about 200 million "theys"?

Do you think that once all the "theys" are legalized we won't have any more "illegal theys"?

If we don't have a limit on the number of legal "theys" then we would never have any "illegal theys", right?

So that's the answer, no limit on "theys".

Welcome to Globalmania.

Remember that when you have to begin to speak in Spanish to order a Big Mac.

What does speaking Spanish have to do with illegal immigration?

And before you roll your eyes, I'm right here in Arizona, not far removed from the influence of Mexico, so I know of what I speak.

I make my own judgments , based upon my own feelings and research.

I have had issues with President Bush for awhile now. He has disappointed me on major issues to me. This is the straw that broke my camel's back.

BTW, I can tell you 100%, across the board ,I am not a DU troll or a liberal. No one dislikes DU or liberals more than me.

I may like the Constitution more than others here, but that should not make me a troll at Freerepublic, and it def. does not make me a liberal.
