The State Department terror warning said Al Qaeda can be expected to try new attacksTHE STATE DEPT. WARNING IS CLEARLY IDENTIFIED IN THE FIRST PARAGRAPH AS BEING A "REITERATION" OF THE NOVEMBER 21ST WARNING.
Sorry for the all caps, there's a lot of noise in this thread at the moment.

Oh, cajungirl. You just brought a tear to my eye.
My mom and dad live 20 minutes away and we see them often. There's nothing like a mom and those of us who have/had good ones are more fortunate than almost anyone else on earth. How lovely to hear you speak so well of your mom; she can feel those thoughts and is proud of you.

"now that is a bigbigbig reach"
I am not saying this mega PR blitz is totally for political effect. If there were plans, this may serve to end them.
But, the political benefits are being ignored here. This is bad news for Dims.

I will say, one thing I am concerned about is that the capture of Saddam "triggered" the release of some kind of failsafe chain of custody for anthrax stocks within the US. That is alot more feasible then a nuke, since we know they have anthrax and the 2001 attacks were likely AQ also. Anthrax is easy to transport and store.
There are alot of anthrax "experts" here on FR, they always gather on the anthrax threads, I wonder what they think about this? Maybe someone could ping some of them.

I find it strange how Libya is disclosing it's WMD program Pure unadulterated speculation, of course, but I had a similar suspicion. Also perhaps Saddam has spilled the beans.

You have good heroes. Your mother and Tony Blair; great tagline. I have a great pic of the president and Tony Blair on my freeper page - they are standing in front of "10 Downing".

I did read something about the Erie Canal, so perhaps you're right. Poor New Yorkers; I know my brother is barely over 9/11 and gets frightened every time there is an alert of any kind, especially subways.

I second that. I am an ex Dallas cop. I'd be fighting with the militia in the event of martial law, not confiscating guns.

I understand your point, but disagree with the premise. I think this is bad for everyone including the GOP (but necessary) These warnings hurt business, and at this time of year may keep people apart.
I am sure that The President did not make this decision easily, and know for sure The previous President would not have had the guts or ethics to come to the decision to raise the warning.

We are talking about potential terror acts that could kill thousands of people. Who gives a flying fig about the politics of this?
Shutup and get a clue.

During the campaign, Dean and the media can no longer say the President has not done enuf to protect us. This is a HUGE development.
