A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

Thoughtful Praises
Read: Psalm 143
I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands. Psalm 143:5
Bible In One Year: 1 Peter 1-2
Most of us long to praise God more joyfully than we do. One common hindrance is that no matter how hard we try, we often don't feel like praising Him.
Bible teacher Selwyn Hughes says that God has placed within us three main functions: the will, the feelings, and the thoughts. Our will, he says, has little or no power over our feelings. You can't say, "I am going to feel different," and then accomplish it by sheer willpower. What the feelings do respond to are the thoughts. Quoting another source, Hughes says: "Our feelings follow our thoughts like baby ducks follow their mother." So how can we make our thoughts the leader of our feelings?
David showed us the way in Psalm 143. Feeling overwhelmed and distressed (v.4), he took time to think about the Lord (v.5). He remembered God's lovingkindness, trustworthiness, and guidance (v.8); His protection and goodness (vv.9-10); His righteousness and mercy (vv.11-12). Once David got going, his feelings began to follow his thoughts.
Name your own blessings daily; contemplate them thoroughly; speak about them to God and to others. Gradually your concern about feelings will diminish and you'll be praising God with joy. Joanie Yoder
Take control of my heart today,
Keep it filled with joy and praise
And gratitude for every good
You bestow on all my days. Sees
Joy thrives in the soil of praise.

Good morning, Mama_Bear...)
Santa's made his list and has the sleigh out of the garage, oiling the skids and checking the reigns and traces...he probabl gave the reindeer a little extra alfalfa and sugar cubes this morning.
He's carrying a load heavier than usual this year, what with all the gifts for our troops on station far away.
May the good Lord bless them as they go about their dangerous duties.
(Thank you, Mr. Mayor, for your words of wisdom).
Wishin' all the finest a very fine weekend...)

Thanks for always pinging me jwfiv. You're very kind to think of me.
FTH, thank you, thank you, thank you so very, incredibly much for the White House Christmas ornament. OMGosh, I love it so much, I don't want anyone to ever have it. I'm going to put it in my will that it be buried with me. ROFL It looks so pretty on your little tree. Thank you for your creative, fun self and for granting me the winning prize that day. I appreciate it so much.
All....sorry I'm not around much. I was swamped and now that I'm not swamped any more, I'm sick. LOL Can't win for losing.
God bless.

I meant to post these pics on the Pet Thread last week and finally found the time to upload these pic's of Jonah and Daisy you sent me the other day Spook. The picture of your kids on the Christmas card was so good! I'm going to frame it.
I'm swamped this weekend too so won't be around until Tuesday when I'll be posting the thread....whoever knows me can probably guess what it will be about. Hope everyone has time to be here some that day. :)
Jonah is really growing up!
