Congratulations to the Officers and Men of the U.S. 4th Infantry Division, "Ivy", and their comrades in the Kurdish Peshmergha, on the event of the capture of Saddam al-Hussein.
Well done, gentlemen. Cigars all around.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

"How long before the Marines try to take the credit? ;-)" Sadaam's dumb, but he's smart enough to know who NOT to be captured by!
Seriously, many kudos to the 4th ID for this work!
Great job, guys!

Ring the Bell, Watchman
by Henry Clay Work
High in the belfry the old sexton stands,
Grasping the rope with his thin bony hands
Fix'd is his gaze as by some magic spell
Till he hears the distant murmur,
Ring, ring the bell.
"Ring the bell, watchman! ring! ring! ring!
"Yes, yes! the good news is now on the wing.
"Yes, yes! they come and with tiding to tell.
"Glorious and blessed tidings. Ring, ring the bell!"
Baring his long silver locks to the breeze,
First for a moment he drops on his knees
Then with a vigor that few could excel
Answers he the welcome bidding,
Ring, ring the bell.
Hear! from the hilltop, the first signal gun
Thunders the word that some great deed is done
Hear! thro' the valley the long echoes swell,
Ever and anon repeating
Ring, ring the bell.
Bonfires are blazing and rockets ascend
No meagre triumph such tokens portend
Shout! shout! my brothers for "all, all is well!"
'Tis the universal chorus
Ring, ring the bell.

Screw You, DU!!!
Congratulations 4ID and all our Men and Women in service, job well done.
I think the highlight of my day has so far been when the Iraqi Journalists at the news conference began shouting "Death to Sadam". I hope and pray that they turn him over to the people of Iraq and not a war crimes tribunal.

Admiration and respect for the 4th ID, all our "boots on the ground", including all our
Coalition Of The Willing who have "stayed the course".
And a moment of somber thanks to Providence and rememberance of all the
lost military personnel and those who've left limbs behind in Iraq and other places
in order to make possible this peak moment in the "Post 9-11" world.
For this we should imitate President Lincoln and humble ourselves and give thanks.

Hee hee.

Well done, gentlemen. Cigars all around. Highly apporpriate that the first men in Iraq caught this scum bag.
BTW, how are they taking it over at DU?
Doing their best to ignore it as far as I can tell. But denial is only the first stage of grief. Full jibbering nuttiness will take some time.

Big Bump and Congratulations!
I know that many of you who have served and are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan read here and I hope this thread grows long with the thanks of those of us who have great appreciation and admiration for each and every one of you.
