Conservatives are now the "Blacks" of the Republican Party

In a discussion on this thread Tom Ridge's Immigration Remarks Draw Fire a post regarding the conservative angst about the recent campaign finance reform that Bush signed into law and that the Supreme Court approved (and the approval was praised by the White House), on the heals of the Medicare entitlement enacted under a Republican controlled government the following was posted:

I'm hearing Rush now. He claims the republicans have ONLY one party to go to. He has put this issue squarely on the problem. We need to vote outside of this corrupt party apparatus.

I also heard this on Rush and my blood boiled. Rush said conservatives have no place else to go and thus will continue to vote as a block to the Republicans.....and then it hit me. That is exactly what we conservatives lament about Blacks and the Democratic party. Black Democrats who vote straight Democratic and are rewarded by being ignored.

In other words, Conservatives are now the "Blacks" of the Republican Party!!!

I urge the same solution to Republican conservatives that Black conservatives offer to Black Democrats. QUIT! Become independents and let the parties fight for our votes. If we can't take the GOP back we should leave the GOP.

I did not change. My party did. I thank God Ronald Reagan is unable to comprehend what is happening to the party he saved.

I did not mention talk of third parties. I said hold your independent vote and be courted. Do not leave to join another party-leave and be independent AND organized as independents.

In fact, what can be more conservative than not belonging to a political party? Did not Washington warn us away from forming political parties?

The thought that this party has produced political commissars aka Bushbots that try and keep you in through threats and insults IS just the the kind of thing Rev's. Sharpton and Jackson and others use to keep Black voters on the Democratic party plantation. I do not want to belong to such a party. In fact that the last few months I have seen a rise of this type on FR that attempts to spin bad news into good - ""FOR EXAMPLE: How Bush signing this awful and EVIL CFR bill was really Bush "stratergery" because he knew the SC would find it unconstitutional-isn't Bush a genius?!"" We conservatives saw those bushbotisims way too much but we said nothing. ENOUGH.

Exactly. As disappointed I am with some of the political moves by Bush, I will not throw my vote away on a 3rd party or by staying home on election day. The RATS can never be trusted with absolute power. California is a perfect example.

There isn't much difference between the Dems and the Rs anymore. Here is a partial list of grievances I have with the GOP and I have yet to get a good answer for any of them from Bushies or RINOs:

1. Failure to do anything about our wide open borders and the invasion of illegals from the South - The American character of America is being erased before our eyes.

2. Explosion of big government (Medicare bill - need I say more?) which has a DIRECT negative effect on individual freedom. I want the government out of my life!

3. Do nothing posture on the HORRIFIC court rulings that limit religious freedom. Why does no one ever mention the Exceptions Clause (Art. III, U.S. Const.) which by simply majority vote would limit the courts' jurisdiction over these matters?

4. Bush's "road map" Israeli plan which requires Israel to treat terrorist nation as equal partners, which will fail miserably.

5. Wimpy spineless posture with democrats on the judicial nominations (I feel nausea coming on every time I think about it). Why do those Senate Repubs suck up to those evil Democrats so much?

6. Most important, TOTAL DISREGARD for the U.S. Constitution which limits federal power, even as Congress passes unconstituitonal bill after unconstitutional bill. Oaths mean nothing these days.

7. GOP's warming up to homosexual rights groups (log cabin Republicans, etc.) which is destructive to traditional family in America (Cheney's daughter is a lesbian - surprise!). Who will stand up for traditional values? Not the GOP! They give lip service only, but I don't watch lips, I watch feet.

8. Bush actually agreed with that egregious SCOTUS ruling on the Univ. of Michigan that endorsed RACIAL quotas.

That's just a short list. I could go on. But I will not vote for a bad candidate regardless of how bad the other candidate is. If Dean is elected it will be because 45% or MORE Americans voted for him! Indeed, the true problem is in the hearts Americans themselves, half of whom have fallen into total moral depravity and narcissism, and vote their selfish desires over moral principle because they HAVE NO MORAL PRINCIPLES - like the true hedonists they are, they vote their stomachs and their wallets. America is doomed unless God is reinserted into the national equation.

You have a great point. Mine was just my opinion. Yours might be better.

Wow, see how a discussion goes amongst true conservatives as opposed to bushbot conservatives? We talk, think over, ponder, concede a point....

That was the old Republican party I remembered-the party Democratic Senator Monahan called "the party of ideas".

Others don't seem to realize that. Common sense always wins out, problem is some just don't have it or refuse to use it.

My advice is to hold your independent vote and be courted. Do not leave to just join another party-leave and be independent AND organized as independents. Let them know we orthodox conservatives are a block of voters and that we await to see who is worthy of our votes.

Hold it for what? Bush is the GOP nominee, and I couldn't give a rat's behind who the depraved and evil Democrat nominee is. Neither can possibly get my vote at this point. Bush wants to turn America into a socialist state and the democrats want to turn it into an ATHEISTIC socialist state where Christianity is illegal.

The Libertarians cannot get my vote because they don't understand where morality comes from. There is no moral foundation in libertarianism. Freedom cannot exist without morality, only licentiousness can.

The Green Party are neo-pagan earth worshippers, so that pretty much leaves the Constitution Party whose uncompromising platform I heartily agree with. Therefore, I will vote Constitution Party until such time as TRUE conservatives form their own party - I believe that will be triggered when Dr. James Dobson calls on his listeners to BOLT the GOP - and that will be the death knoell of the GOP - they can't afford to lose 5 million evangelical votes and survive. The GOP will go the way of the Whigs and good riddance! Then, we can start over. I'm game.

I don't know about that, I think the Dem party would go the way of the Whigs and the GOP would replace the Dems party.

Question for you: As America drifts further and further into amorality and immorality, and the invasion of 3rd world people continues, which party do you think will gain by this combination foreign invasion and moral freefall? Hint: The most immoral one...

You have already confessed that you are not a conservative.

Oops. An intentional lie or just an inability to remember?

I am a conservative in all ways except politically. That's because imbeciles have defined conservativity down. You would be a disgrace to conservatives if you were one, but no one in their right mind thinks you are.

Is DU that boring or do you really think you will find apostates here that aren't part of your cell ?

I agree but the Constitution is mute.

So on the conservative scale you are 1/2 conservative and 1/2 taliban with about 10% understanding the nature of the US Consitution. Take some more classes on Constitutional Law or learn from this site some more then come back when you have thought it through.

It's different.

Democrats have no intention of resolving black problems. Black anger and votes depend on old problems remaining. Democrats tell blacks the same things every two years - the same stuff for forty years.

When Republicans offer solutions for blacks, like vouchers, and privatized Social Security, democrats fight us. They don't want bedrock issues touched, they want blacks to stay grateful for nothing.

It's not the same with conservatives, we're not the "blacks" of the party. We are the Republican Party. Conservatives don't get everything, but we're an important part of the team.

That is exactly what we conservatives lament about Blacks and the Democratic party. Black Democrats who vote straight Democratic and are rewarded by being ignored.

In other words, Conservatives are now the "Blacks" of the Republican Party!!!

That sounds remarkably like the LiberalSpeak

I am a patriot in all ways except militarily.

You are not being intellectually honest here.

That is a good point, but if the GOP keeps up with amnisty for the illegals, buddying up to China, not speaking out against the SC finding on sodomy, etc. would that not make them just as immoral?

You are not being intellectually honest here.

You don't understand what a conservative is.

Based on that, I don't think that you can be in any way to be honest, much less intellectual.
