A search warrant has been executed at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch.

It is being reported that this warrant has something to do with Jackson's relationships with children.

Didn't he settle for $20 million with the family of the boy he was accused of molesting? True, this should not be read as an admission of guilt, and he certainly could afford the money. But one can't help but wonder if a truly innocent person would settle out of court on a charge like that.

Wow. If there turns out to be something to it I'll actually be a little surprised. I'm in the minority but I always figured Jackson was innocent of sexual abuse but was vulberable to extortion because he didn't understand the normal bounderies that are established between adults and children.

Search Warrant Executed At Pop Star's Neverland Ranch In California

LOS OLIVOS, Calif. (CBS) Investigators armed with a search warrant swarmed Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch on Tuesday, a sheriff's official said. The purpose of the search was not disclosed, however sources tell New York's WCBS 880 that the raid was in connection with a 12-year-old boy. Additonal details are not available.

Authorities executed the warrant at the singer's sprawling home in the Santa Ynez Valley outside of Santa Barbara, said a sheriff's spokesman, who declined to give his name. The Santa Barbara County district attorney's office was also involved in the action, he added.

The singer who had international hits with the albums “Thriller” (1982), “Bad” (1987) and “Dangerous” (1991), saw his career begin to collapse in 1993 amid allegations he molested a boy. Jackson has maintained his innocence, and charges were never filed. He reportedly paid a multimillion-dollar settlement.

Jackson is also connected to Hollywood private eye Anthony Pellicano, who has begun serving federal prison time for possessing illegal explosives, and is being investigated about whether he secretly taped conversations of celebrities and their lawyers.

Pellicano, 59, reportedly worked for Jackson while the singer was under investigation for child molestation in the early 1990s.

Jackson's spokesman, Stuart Backerman, did not answer his cell phone and did not immediately return messages early Tuesday.

The search came on the same day Epic Records released “Number Ones,” a greatest hits collection featuring Jackson's new single, “One More Chance.” On Nov. 26, CBS is scheduled to air a Jackson special consisting mainly of old concert footage.

I agree, it's not normal. I think he has the mentality of a child...However, that does not translate to sexual abuse.

I, too, agree that it's not normal. But I think the childlike mentality, arrested development, and strange, neurotic behaviors (air masks to keep from getting reporters germs) coupled (eww, no pun intended) with his adult, fully mature physical body and desires and the internal conflict therein are EXACTLY the recipe for someone so seemingly childlike and yet so predatorial of children. Many pedophiles have similar issues. Thankfully (sarcasm) the various gay movements are working overtime to erase the stigma of child molestation. Maybe MJ can be their poster 'child'...

I remember the other case and I thought MJ acted very guilty.... What I am still trying to understand is "Why were no criminal charges filed?" Did the parents settle and refuse to cooperate with the police? If any of what is alleged is true, he needs to be in jail or the mental ward... But where is the proof that he is a child molester... And this person who witnessed these horrible acts should come forward and testify... I would think that any confidentiality agreement would be irrelevant when weighed against the safety of children....

Keep in mind that the reason he was able to settle was that it was a his-word-against-the-kid's, and the kid's family wanted to settle, and thus refused to testify. In other words, the D.A. wanted to prosecute, but had NO case. I doubt the prosecutors would make that mistake a second time.

Actually it does translate to sexual abuse. The way he talks about boys is straight off the NAMBLA webpage, and also straight off the FBI webpage on how to identify potential abusers.
