Oh, and so they refuse to re-edit it???

If they edit out the inaccuracies, what will they fill the remaining 90 minutes with?

And, next question, who's the idiot at Showtime who's going to put that operation in the crapper by laying out $9 mil for this revisionist hit piece?

The one who put "Queer As Folk" on the air.

“This is censorship,” says one source. “A pressure group has had a major network rip this movie to shreds.”

And so goes the lubricious liberal mindset.

The Clinton/Streisand/CBS axis of evil isn't a pressure group? Ccorrecting lies is censorship?

TRUE STORY (semi-related to topic)

When my folks drove me out to Los Angeles from Colorado to attend college, my dad had illustrated that year's poster for the national Humane Society, so we were given a royal tour of several movie sets in and around LA which were using animals. Very fun tour.

One set was in a deserted Broadway department store in downtown LA, where they were filming a movie about a guy trapped in a store after hours, who had to fend off guard dogs.

As we watched a scene being filmed, a shoddy looking guy off camera kept staring at me with a lecherous grin...my mom even noticed...he was a mess and we thought he was a disgusting bum. In the next scene, that same "bum" had to interact with the dogs, hanging from one arm from a pipe overhead. He was absolutely furious at the attention the dogs were getting, leaving him hanging there for several 'takes'. ( Filming laws are more protective of animals on a set than actors, so I could understand his outrage.)

But to this day, whenever I see or hear of James Brolin, I remember him shouting the *F* word that day on the set 30 years ago, flirting like an idiot, dressed like a "bum", starring in that stupid movie.

Bad actor then...worse actor now. His Reagan imitation won't fool anyone.

CBS should give Free Republic $9 million to make a factual and truthful movie about both Clintons.

You just hit the nail on the head.! No problem of having credible sources, there are even a lot of his own people trying to rehabilitate themselves. The whole sordid truth is there for all to see, on the web page of Alamo-Girl. FR has the information and the writing talent to make one heck of a movie. I will also add litigation proof.!!!

Yeah, and they are hoping to sell to Showtime... time for us to "react" to this proposal.

CBS would have done better to chronicle the Klintoons, rather that besmirch the Reagans.... Now there's a story, with all the sleeze and scandal you could want! And, it would be authentic! Totally substantiated!!!

If this is true, it's one of the smartest moves CBS has made in years.

The production - and/or selling -- of garbage is despicable.

My guess this is out of show and not much more, meaning they will claim they didn't have a taker and be forced to air the film anyway. Who knows, but CBS, or other networks for that matter, rarely if ever do what this article states. I mean, CBS has their own production company. If the movie wasn't good enough for CBS, somehow it is good enough for Showtime? This theory doesn't fly with me. However, this is what happens, and rightly so, when any company or group infuriates the American people.

Well, so for once, all of our calls, letters, emails and outrage worked?

Beware Showtime. If you intend to buy this movie and air it like it is, you will be next.

"“This is censorship,” says one source. “A pressure group has had a major network rip this movie to shreds.”

No, this is free speech and free markets. You are free to write trash and air it, but we are all free to boycott those who support your programming if we don't like your content. You want to sell to people, you have to appeal to them. Tailoring your programming to appeal to the broadest possible audience (customer base) is not censorship, it's smart business (assuming you want to STAY in business).

This will STILL be distributed overseas. This only gets it off broadcast air and onto cable. Contrast, Sex and the City is boardcast in europe off of REGULAR airways. This does not affect distribution.

Hallmark entertainment is still silent on the controversy.

This is smoke and mirrors.

Showtime would be incredibly stupid to buy this white elephant. They would be EVEN EASIER TO CUT OFF. They are cable and purchased at a premium.

Hellow cable company, please cancel my showtime.

This is entertainment speech. Same as the adult entertainers not failing in their free speech argument.

If this IS a free speech argument then it is an admission this is leftist propaganda by design.

Lies are not protected by free speech.

It is not censorship if decent people just want them to tell the true story, not film a bunch of lies to make Reagan look as bad as possible because people close to the movie are liberal democrats! If you want it to be a so called biography, then be more accurate. If not call it a Barbra hit piece.

The left has never understood that freedom of speech is freedom of speech. It it not a license to issue propaganda without opposition. (it also guarantees the freedom to ignore)

The left is upset to realize that when the USSR ended up with communism on the ashheap of histories failures, it included them. (it has a kind of twilight zone end twist. With the leftists screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOO! with this epiphany as the sceen pulls back upa and away, and then fades to black.)
