In this instance Conservatives were betrayed. They did all the footwork when the Liberal California Republicans didn't want to be associated with the Recall. Once it became apparent they jumped in with their candidate Schwarzenegger and stole the thunder out from what was shaping up to be a true conservative movement.

This I believe will continue to be resented and despised for quite a long time. Even longer if Schwarzenegger fails to implement lasting fiscal change or worse, signs in socially liberal policies.

I can see that you're worried; however,I can also see that some of that worry is self inflicted. You claimed, earlier, that the GOP of today, is the same as the DEm party of the 1970ow. No, it absolutely is NOT the same. President Bush is a far cry from Jimmy Carter and that crew. The GOP isn't a bunch of sniveling cowards,decrying war ( Nam, in case you forgot ), aimlessly attempting a 1/2 arse rescue ( Carter ), and we don't have rampent inflation, or skyhigh interest rates ( which were GREAT, if one had money in the bank...hehehehehe ), or a host of other damned Dem things.

And as far as Commie influence/take over, the 1930-1950s were far worse! The stinking Commies, in government, managed to do their worst, loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong ago. The Clintons are Fabian Socialists, with Madam C being farther along in blantant Marxist territory.

Facts are our friends; really they are and emotional claptrap, is painfully useless! Want to overcome ? Vote GOP and get rid of as many Dem ofcfice holders as is humanly possible. Don't scare yourself with imagined/exagerated boogeymen. Get out there and educate yourself, everyone else you come in contact with, and work to elect GOP candidates to EVERY position possible, through time, effort, and money.
