There are plenty of people out there hooked on prescription drugs prescribed by their doctor. I do not hold this against these people but I do hold people who do illegal drugs responsible for what they do. Am I wrong?

Evan Thomas writes this in a current Newsweek article: "The man behind the curtain is not the God of Family Values but a childless, twice-divorced, thrice-married schlub whose idea of a good time is to lie on his couch and watch football endlessly. Nice."

A vicious hit-piece. But Rush will have the last laugh, as he always does. :)

LIBERALS ARE BESIDE THEMSELVES WITH GLEE (about Rush)

Of course they are. These are the very same people that are gunna have a party, God forbid, when the Pope dies.

You have to ask yourself......who's side are these people on?

Good post. And I agree with the article 100%. However, the part that is neglected in this article is Rush's stance on drug abuse taken from either of his 2 top selling books. Rush is published as stating that he is for manditory sentencing for drug pushers and users. So, as this has been his stance for others, it should be the metric placed upon him. Anything else would be hypocritcal.

If Rush comes out mentaly OK from all this he will emerge stronger than ever. He is the lionheart of the conservative movement and his loyal listeners will stand behind him till the end.

If this is such a good option for Rush (and it is) then why isn't it a good option for some sap from the inner city who succumbs to neighborhood peer pressure and gets hooked on drugs?

Point 1) Usually that is the case--a first time a offender gets probation and rehab inner city or anywhere else.

Point 2) Objectively I have far more sympathy for someone who has chronic pain finding a way to treat it and then getting hooked then someone who got hooked partying with their n'er do well friends.

Point 3) Nonethleless, if Rush gets back on the drugs after rehab he should face jail time. He needs to straighten his life out NOW or face the consequences.

Point 4) if we are going to ever decriminalize drugs we will have to do it the libertarian way, not the liberal way--people who overdose don't get free medical treatment (at others expense), people who choose to waste their lives away on drugs don't get welfare, or SS or anything else. etc etc.

Hmmm...don't recall Rush ever claiming to be a "God", or anything else, of family values.

The conservative movement doesn't need weaklings falling apart at this time. I mean people who are jumping to judgement on Rush. Lets see how this all plays out. Like all stories it becomes unimportant after time. If Rush serves jail time...so be it. You can alienate yourself from his acomplishments and join the ranks of the socialist left..and is that the answer. Stand by Rush. He has definitley given more than he has taken and I'm sure he will do whats right.

Well, duh! What did you think the libs would send get well card and flowers? How much joy does it bring to a conservative heart that Bill Clinton now is a political kiss of death? Or, Gray Davis's demise. There is a perverse joy in the troubles of our enemies. Please, I don't care one way or the other about Rush. He runs a funny radio show that entertains me. A smile will come over my face when the Republicans and Democrats are soundly trounce in some future presidental race.

Only a moron or a kitten-eating reptile from outer space could honestly believe that Rush should be jailed.

Make your call, folks!

to someone who can afford to raise a child,

Child, heck he could afford to raise a whole village!

Does anybody know if Marta has any children? I thought I heard a radio personality, in extending his thoughts and prayers to Rush and his family, mention stepchildren. I could understand Rush not wanting to make such info public for privacy reasons, but if he does have stepchildren, it just shows more of the deceptiveness of the left by Mr. Thomas making such a statement.

As a big Rush fan I am very disappointed in his addiction. He should have seeked help long before he was involved in this investigation and admitted his weakness. His only real hope now is seeking Jesus' mercy and putting his life on the One Step program. He should be punished as any person who broke any laws that he may have broken. As a former drug addict, I have little compassion for his weaknesses.

With a bad back, golf is the last thing he should be playing. His life will be a mess for years to come and there is only one answer to walk away from his addiction and that is Jesus, which has been proven over and over. It worked for my drug addiction and never had an urge to use again. Sorry Rush, your a genius but all the money in the world will not solve this problem. Only your admittance to your humanity and put your life in the hands of the Savior.

Pray for GW and Rush
