Democrats are reportedly gearing up for total war and plan to implement radical changes to the legislative and judiciary branches of the government if the GOP-led Senate confirms a new Supreme Court (SCOTUS) justice before the Nov. 3 election then lose the majority after the election, Axios reported Sunday.
The Democrats options include ending the Senate filibuster rule which requires a 60-vote supermajority to end debate and move to a vote instead of a simple majority expanding the number of Supreme Court justices, granting statehood to the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and even undertaking a second impeachment effort against the President if he tries to fill the seat vacated by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Those were always part of the plan, they have merely dropped the facade.
They’re going to do all of the above if they win everything in November regardless of what Trump does with the USSC nomination. That’s the problem when you tell everyone about your plans ahead of time. You have nothing to threaten with when it becomes necessary.
Desperate people tend to make a lot of mistakes.
It’s a bunch of hot air.
Here’s hoping Roberts’ name shows up prominently on the Lolita logs. Then force the no-account to resign. Then, make it a REAL 6-3 conservative majoritY.
According to the Constitution, a new state cannot be created by splitting or merging existing states unless both the U.S. Congress and the legislatures of the states involved approve.
West Virginia didn’t.
They can’t get away with it but we aren’t supposed to know that. Neither is Trump, for that matter.
For now, threats are all they have, and like the president said earlier today in response to the threat of yet another impeachment attempt “If they do that, we win.”
It has to start some time. It may as well be now. So anytime you are ready.
That is why it is important Trump be reelected particularly if Republicans lose the Senate. They may jettison the filibuster to try to get their crazier stuff through like new states but Trump has veto power and they will need 67 votes to overcome the veto. They might try packing the court but Trump simply will not nominate judges or will nominate conservative judges for 4 years that the Dem Senate will not confirm and freeze in place the 6-3 SC conservative majority/
So I believe that sets precedence that when portions of a state is so politically divided that the legislature cannot or will not grant the motion, then it is not necessary.
The dems may want to re-think PR as a state: The current Governor is a Republican.
Great observation. Hadn’t thought about that, but you are right.
Cant? Excuse me, West Virginia? Heard of it?
According the Treaty (since Texas was an independent nation at the time) admitting Texas to the Union, Texas can divide into 5 states without Congressional approval. Some argue that that clause is no longer valid since Texas was readmitted during Reconstruction. This gets interesting because if this argument holds, then logically Texas was able to secede, which many also argue that states can’t.
The only other option is to make a new 10 square mile district somewhere else as the seat of the government, and then try to make the District of Columbia a state (after getting consent from Maryland and Virginia that ceded the original land).

Bring it Rats. Rats are getting their a$$e$ kicked. They are running scared.
Roberts has become a judicial Social Worker tending to the needs of his local village’s Commies.
It is more likely the info used by the dems for extortion is worse than any alleged sex with minors-I’ve seen several articles-even when he 1st got the SC seat-indicating that all or some of his kids were illegally adopted-from Ireland-as in purchased and illegally taken from the mother. If true, that is hard prison time stuff, plus ruinous legal and restitution fees for purchasing a fellow human being-that reveal would scare someone in a position of trust bigtime...
So, doesn’t West Virginia set precedence that when portions of a state is so politically divided that the legislature cannot or will not grant the motion?
They have grand illusions that will create even more monetary hand-outs and our taxes will go thru the roof in so many ways.
