Gov. John Bel Edwards was forced to eat his own words when GOP nominee Donald Trump showed up in Baton Rouge today to donate and hand-out supplies for Louisiana flooding victims.
Edwards’ spokesperson was silent on President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s failure to visit the state in the wake of the flooding crisis.
But, the spokesperson took a swipe at Trump, saying he didn’t want him to show up with cameras and not actually help victims.
“Donald Trump hasn’t called the governor to inform him of his visit,” Edwards’ spokesman said. “We welcome him to LA but not for a photo-op. Instead we hope he’ll consider volunteering or making a sizable donation to the LA Flood Relief Fund to help the victims of the storm.”
However, Trump didn’t show up with the media and he came with a truck full of goods for victims.

A week ago, you could just see this unfolding and Hillary’s campaign crew just watching from the distance. No one wanted to change the schedule or make use of a good PR moment. I’d say in Louisiana....that boosted Trump by five-percent and virtually guarantees him the state.
If I were Trump....every forest fire...every hurricane...for the rest of the campaign season....I’d have trucks lined up and do a PR run through the affected area. Hire out the trucks....put a logo on the side....”Trump Trucks Deliver”.

Just like Kathleen Blanco, they only care about the $$$ ‘donation’ or ‘federal government relief’. So they can appropriate how to divide it up and spend it as they see fit.
Showing up with a 18-wheeler full of supplies demonstrated Trump's way ahead of them. Not only this move showcased Trump's decisiveness, also he and his people playing stratagem better than ‘your typical politicians’. This speaks of real-world experience. Bravo!
Donald took a page out of the Dem playbook both in LA and Milwaukee...that is - never let a crisis go to waste. And caught the Mullah and Hillary sleeping. Well done!!

Yes. Unfortunately, the Republicans ran hooker-loving Vitter in the last cycle and he lost. The citizens of Louisiana are stuck with John Bel for another 3 1/2 years.
