On Thursday, the Wall Street Journals Laura Meckler and Colleen McCain Nelson broke the news that Hillary Clinton is vetting Elizabeth Warren for the vice presidency but not vetting Bernie Sanders. In the process, they provided a shortlist of candidates that Clinton is considering:
Beyond the Massachusetts senator, other prospective candidates include Labor Secretary Tom Perez; Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro; Sens. Tim Kaine of Virginia, Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Cory Booker of New Jersey; Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, and Reps. Xavier Becerra of California and Tim Ryan of Ohio, several Democrats said.
Now, this isnt necessarily an exhaustive list, and Meckler and Nelson note that the vetting is still in early stages, using publicly available information rather than asking candidates to submit tax returns and the like.
Nonetheless, this list is the best information we've gotten about who Clinton is considering, and it includes some names that havent popped up in prior media speculation. All of these candidates have obvious strengths that have put them on this list, but of course, they each have their weaknesses as well....

It’s going to be Al Franken.
Losers the whole bunch of them.
At least Princess Lie-A-Watha Warren isn’t on that list. That ticket would be like how I would picture my (fictitious) ex-wife and her mother-in-law screeching at me all the time.
The MSM is helping Hillary with her trial balloons...
My money’s on Brown, just as radical as lieawatha but with less testosterone....
Look again. She’s first on the list, unlike Bernie.
huh? It says that Fauxcahontas IS being considered.....
I think Fauxcahontas is on the list because once they get to the debates...Hillary is a one-star performer, and they really need someone that will come out and dump hard against the Trump team. It’s hard to see how Hillary and the Fauxcahontas would be able to work together, or Fauxcahontas taking orders from Hillary, if you ask me.
My money is on Julián Castro.
She thinks he would bring back Hispanic voters that have moved to Trump and it would place person that the Clintons can control after the 2020 and 2024 elections.
It will be Warren. Cankles needs to shore up support on her left flank, as the hardcore socialist wing of her party is currently butthurt and embittered over Sanders’ spectacular crash-and-burn.
Warren. Bet the rent money on it.
Warren is their best chance for the first woman/women ticket historical hype. Should Hillary end up indicted (and what are the chances of that), Warren will already have a prime spot with just a little ticket reshuffling. The Democrats have to have a gimmick and women are their gimmick this time around.
of the pros and cons, it’s all cons. The worst of those cons is that Hillary would have to end as POTUS for her VP pick to mean squat.
Adam Schiff?
The first sentence says that Lie-a-watha was vetted last week. Lie-a-watha went to der Hildebeast’s D.C. home for the interview. She is on top of the list.
I concur. Lie-a-watha has been on my radar since last Summer. Foe the idiot electorate, what’s another liar on the ticket? They will vote for all of them because the truth doesn’t matter when identity politics rules their decision.
My money is on Senator Sessions and he will make Brown look like a turd on the wedding cake in the debates.
Correction: Foe is For.
Read it again. She is the first person mentioned.
Warren is a terrible candidate. She got 53% in a liberal state while Kaine & others were getting 55% plus, in swing state Senate races.
