Bernie is going to win. The writing is on the wall that Hillary is most likely guilty of [at a minimum] unintentional espionage and probably much worse and it looks like an indictment at this point is imminent. Theres no doubt that the democratic establishment is also aware of this inevitability and is beginning to hedge their bets, albeit behind closed doors. Its only a matter of time before the majority of the DNC begins to realize that Hillary is a liability to the party and once this tipping point occurs, establishment democrats will defect en masse like rats from a sinking ship. But thats not why Bernie is going to win.
Superdelegates, which date back to centrist Scoop Jacksons Coalition for a Democratic Majority in the early 1970s, were meant to be a safeguard mechanism and were installed after an extremely contentious Democratic Convention in 1980 between Ted Kennedy and Jimmy Carter. This heated contest split the democratic party and created a chasm between the two camps, quite probably cost the democrats the general election. Scoop was a conservative Democrat and the superdelegates function was to ensure the party had a viable candidate to compete against the republican nominee by steering the party away from progressive candidates and more towards moderates.
The true, original intention of superdelegates was to have safeguards in place to act in the best interest of the party and its becoming more and more clear that Hillarys legal troubles are not going away. In the general election, Sanders crushes Trump in a head to head contest while Hillary struggles, especially in 3 key so-called battleground states....

No way.
Biden/Warren.
Just a matter of time.
“Sanders crushes Trump”
I don’t think that will happen.
Here I come to save the day!!
Millennials would come out to vote for Bernie in the general, but blacks would either stay home (”two old white crackers? ain’t got time for that”), or vote 75-25 for Bernie, far less than Obama got.
In the general election, Sanders crushes Trump in a head to head contest...
What ever he’s smoking, I don’t want any of it.
Don’t know what they smoke at HuffPo, but it’s powerful.
What’s driving the shakers toward Bernie is not Hillary’s criminality, but the prospect of a very violent convention which his followers are already proven ready to foment.
The writer admits that Hillary is guilty and will/should be indicted. However, if she is not he will most likely have no problem pulling the lever for her over Trump. And they say we have sold our soul to Trump. He’s not looking at being federally indicted...
I believe the indictment will come after she wins the nod, leading to Biden or The Moose as the nominee.
I’m sure plenty of corrupt Commie lawyers at Just-Us are working on a trumped-up indictment for Trump.
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet. I'd love to try puffin' on whatever the Puffington Hos are puffin'.
I’m hoping he does well enough just to make Hilary a weaker candidate.
Would take about 2/3rds of super delegates switching from Herself to Bernie for him to win.
That’s actually quite doable, considering their interest is more in any Democrat winning than in Herself running (and quite possibly losing).
Bernie is popular. Herself, not so much.
And delusionist.
Maybe Bernie can run for President of Venezuela and turn it around.
BWAHAHAHAHA. Two problems with this. Clinton has the super-delegates bought and paid for. Any defectors will be visiting Fort Marcy Park. In the event that Sanders does somehow win, the DNC will collapse as the CCF will pull their money that is supporting it.
Not like he could do much worse in Venezuela.
I don’t believe that either sanders or Hillary are going to be the candidate... right before the convention Hillary is going to be forced to release all her delegates and those delegates are going to chose some one else. the reason that Bernie has not quit is that he knows this is going to happen and he is hoping that he can peel off enough of Hillary delegates’ to win. the reason Hillary will quite is to get a pardon for crimes she is about to be charged with. the only reason that she has not ended her campaign is that Bernie has gotten enough delegates to make him still wining the nomination after she ends the campaign. if it was not that Bernie is the only alternative unless all Hillary’s delegates are used to elect another candidate. this has kept Hillary from ending her campaign two months ago.
They've known this for years! But they did nothing but deflect and obfuscate because, like all Dems, they thought they could GET AWAY WITH IT!
So what it Bernie stays in the race no matter what? IF Hillary drops because of an indictment, won’t Sander be the “presumptive nominee”?
