Cruz Country: who are Ted Cruz's supporters in New York?
The Manchester Guardian ^ | April 12, 2016 | Edward Helmore in Melville, Long Island

Posted on 04/12/2016 10:03:44 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Ted Cruz may never have stood much of a chance against Donald Trump in next week’s Republican primary, but his derisive comment about his opponent’s “New York values” – first made in January with an eye on voters in Iowa and New Hampshire – may have helped his rival seal the deal.

Trump currently stands at 55% in the polls in New York, according to Real Clear Politics’ polling average, with Cruz on 18% and Ohio governor John Kasich ahead of him on 20%.

But the conservative Texas senator does have some supporters prepared to come out and back him in the Empire State. Midway down Long Island on Monday, fans turned out to see his wife, Heidi Cruz, and after months of Trump shelling Cruz with “Lyin’ Ted” insults, they were returning fire.

“He’s like a five-year-old,” said Jeanie Middleton of Trump. “He throws a tantrum if he doesn’t get his way.” Husband Bob chimed in: “People are angry with the government so now you have two anti-establishment candidates. [Democrat] Bernie [Sanders] says the system is rigged and Cruz is saying that, too, but Bernie wants to increase government and Ted Cruz wants to reduce it.”

Trump, he said emphatically, is not the answer. “He’s all over the place. He changes his mind every five minutes. Ted Cruz is the closest thing we’ve got to a comprehensive conservative.”(continued)

Nobody is telling people that the reason they can't vote Rep is they are registered Dems. The media is acting like the reason is they just didn't register to vote in time. They will be able to vote for Hillary. That's why daddy has been giving her money for years now. The NYC values Cruz was talking about is everyone in NYC is a Dem and likes it in the rear. This is where the trannies from New Orleans go to get in show business. Google "Trump's kids can't vote" and see. In Texas parlance, we call this RINO's. This is what we are supposedly trying to purge out.

Apparently Trump and two of his children have only been interested in voting in national elections. That’s not a good indicator of people interested in smaller, localized government.

Many people don’t vote in the primary elections. It is just the way it has always been...

I certainly don’t think voting in primary is indicator of people interested in smaller localized government. Like my kids, the Trump kids are busy...

But unlike mine, they are are above the fray and what GOPe and Dems do probably does not affect them much—The Trump family is involved in this election because they love their Dad and their Dad has educated them to what is going on in the country—like he has educated many busy people...and their Dad loves this country.

—Heck, if I had their money, I be very tempted to just buy an Island and a Yacht to get there and say Phoey on the US until some real change occurs.

Besides...PRIMARY VOTING? PRIMARY SCHMIARY...

From what I have learned over the past 2 weeks, the attitude of the GOPe is “We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Voters!!”

So I certainly don’t hold it against them that they don’t vote in primaries...I feel like my and my families efforts were in vain. GOPe gonna do what GOPe gonna do, and it is not serve the will of the people!!

Donald Jr is the one who’s most like his dad. Half his twitter is trashing Merkel’s policies and Black lives matter.

There are 858 still available delegates
Trump needs 482 delegates or roughly 56%
Cruz needs 692 delegates were 80% of the delegates remaining

Well heck, if Manafort says it, let's just cancel the vote and just give the entire state to Trump!

Yes, the sentiment of that kind of action DOES seem very much like what a Cruz supporter would say. Colorado is proof of that.

Oh, that’s the silent army he’s been talking about. The south was pretty silent for Cruz, too. Just sayin’...

NYS is 85% Democrats and RINOs. There are only a very small number of Conservatives here and they all support Cruz.

“Fools, idiots, gullible people? I give up, who?”

That’s hilarious coming from a Trumpanista. Classic case of projection.

“He’s like a five-year-old,” said Jeanie Middleton of Trump. “He throws a tantrum if he doesn’t get his way.” Husband Bob chimed in:

Kind of like how Cruz is crying about how Trump is "intimidating" the delegates that Cruz would like to pay off to become his "supporters".

These things just write themselves these days - Cruz could win it fair and square (if that was in his game book) and go down to Hillary even bigger than Romney went down to Obama - he's alienated 60% of the base and disgusted many more.

On the contrary, you just proved my point. You’re just not smart enough to see it.

You are for the "Constitutional Conservative" right?

Then I am absolutely right, because he is neither.

“You are for the “Constitutional Conservative” right?

No one is perfect but he is much closer to a C.C. than the faux conservative who less than a year or so ago supported crazed leftists. Who was a registered DemocRAT, supported Obamacare, assault weapons bans, open immigration, abortion, etc until he figured out he could con a bunch of gullible conservatives with bunch of empty promises he has NO possible way to fulfill. Bless your heart. It’s so special that you think you are right.

That’s an easy 11
Cruz is bought paid for and OWNED!!!

NEW YORK — This Monday, assorted bankers, traders and Wall Street lawyers will gather inside the neo-Georgian walls of the Harvard Club in midtown Manhattan to write big checks to an unlikely recipient: Ted Cruz.
