Cruz and Rubio to remain on ballot, Broward judge rules
The Sun Sentinel ^ | March 4, 2016 | Rafael Olmeda

A Broward judge on Friday struck down a Hollywood voter's attempt to remove Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio from the Republican presidential primary ballot.

Michael Voeltz, 54, filed a lawsuit seeking to declare Cruz and Rubio ineligible for the presidency because, Voeltz argued, they are not natural-born citizens.

Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father, while Rubio was born in Miami to Cuban immigrants who later became citizens. Both men, Voeltz argued, benefited from laws that made them citizens without putting them through a legal naturalization process.

Voeltz, who represented himself and is not an attorney, took a scalpel to the legal definitions of "natural born" and "naturalized," arguing that one cannot be both at the same time. "You can attain citizenship by an act of naturalization or by birth," Voeltz argued....

I don’t know if Rubio is an NBC, in fact I’m pretty sure he’s not, but Cruz is.

Furthermore, it doesn’t seem like this criteria is ever going to be used to disqualify someone from running, so uh best just to drop it.

If you want to defeat someone, just gonna have to defeat ‘em, and that’s it.

Perhaps we need to provide some new legislation which provides for the forfeiture of U.S. citizenship and demotion to a U.S. National for persons who commit a felony, commit vote fraud, or aid and abet a person born abroad to attempt election to the Office of the President or Vice President of the United States. While we’re at it, we need to repeal the 17th Amendment, establish standing for citizen plaintiffs, and reassert the authority of citizen grand juries without the interference of the Attorney General and District Attorneys.

Perhaps the loss of U.S. citizenship will get the attention of the scofflaws.

The judge said that he has no authority, that authority belongs to congress.

..Again, if there was any there there some court or commission would have ruled against them by now...

The suits have all been filed by individual non lawyers so far. The Ckurt paperwork simply was not done right. We will actually find out when a professionally written lawsuit is filed and heard on the merits or lack of them.

Was either of her parents an american citizen at the time of her birth?

No? I didn’t think so. So, she would need to go through the naturalization process.

she already took her citizenship test. I think we’re done arguing about this frankly. Cruz won’t be POTUS. If you keep fighting, Hillary will be.

If you are sincerely interested and not just in making noise, I’d be happy to explain it to you in a private message. I’m really really tired of going over this again and again in the public forum. It’s not real straightforward, but it’s not real difficult either.

[If either Rubio or Cruz makes it to the General and this is heard before a Democrat judge the outcome will most likely be quite different.]

Would that make every law and executive order crafted by OBAMA illegal, and would OBAMA be impeached?

when you represent oneself expect failure

Well then..... feel free to jump right in on your own suit.
Nothing like paying lawyers and court costs to hear DISMISSED.

.. then..... feel free to jump right in on your own suit...

Why,it’s pointless. Cruz and Marco will fail on their own.
Cruz would be great on SCOTUS.

judge basically ruled as no standing, not the merits of the suit.

I have been saying it should be settled all along. Congress makes the decision....not any court. Every court is throwing it out on a technicality.

What is Cruz NBC?

“If you keep fighting, Hillary will be.”

So you really are convinced that Trump can’t beat Cruz and your only shot will be to talk Cruz into quitting.

Imagine us both thinking the same thing, with one small exception. Cruz ain’t quitting.
