2016 Presidential Polls: Cruz on the Rise While Trump, Carson Deadlocked in Latest NBC Nat'l Poll
Latin Post ^ | November 1, 2015 | Glenn Minnis

Donald Trump and Ben Carson are deadlocked in the latest Republican 2016 presidential poll, with Texas Senator Ted Cruz now vaulting into double digit support and third-place overall.

Rubio, Bush and Fiorina

Perhaps even more encouraging for Cruz, among all GOP voters who watched the last debate he registers 17 percent of the vote, compared to 25 and 24 percent for Trump and Carson respectively. Overall, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio places fourth at nine percent, followed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (five percent) and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina (four percent).

Trump vs. Carson

A deeper dive into the numbers easily reveal why such political neophytes like Trump and Carson are doing so well. Forty-six percent of all GOP leaning voters insist they are dissatisfied with the way the federal government works, and 48% express actual anger.

The two Republican leaders pretty much receive equal support from among the disenchanted, with Cruz finishing next among that sector at 16 percent.

Meanwhile, Carson also continues to poll well among white evangelical voters and is now leading Trump among Republic lean voters who describe themselves as "very conservative."

Carson's campaign to solidify his base among male and females voters also appears to be bearing fruit and he now leads Trump among women by six points.

Cruz

NBC reports the SurveyMonkey conducted national survey finds Trump and Carson each at 26 percent and with Cruz the only other candidate from among the crowded GOP field remaining in striking distance at 10 percent.

Cruz's rise appears tied to him snaring the highest marks among Republican voters and GOP-leaning independents during this month's third and most recent party debate.

While Trump continues to lead on the critical issue of who conservatives feel will best handle the economy, the latest developments mark the first time Cruz has registered double-digit support since formally launching his campaign over the summer.

Why would anybody place the slightest credence in anything NBC might have to say?

Would be a terrible waste of the best mind in the race

Amen. If Mr. Cruz doesn't win the nomination, would love to see the left wing's heads collectively explode after he is on SCOTUS until the year 2055.

Only a fool would underestimate Donald Trump. Seriously, love him or hate him, no one can deny his savvy, his intellegence. He has proved to be a valid contender by maintaining his premier position from the moment he entered. He has demonstrated an incredible energy and cleverness.

So do you fear that Donald could not beat Hillary? Really?

What exactly is the basis for your claim that DT takes us down in flames?

Are there voters in the Republican Primary other than males and females?

Trump set the stage by attacking back in the first 2 debates, boycotting Fox, and calling the first question a poor one. Then the others FINALLY snapped and joined in!

Exac-atickly! He even started it in this debate, yet so many seem to be blind to it.

When he was doing his drone filibuster (2014? 2013?), I happened to be on the Internet and it closed down. Completely. Not just Twitter and Facebook. The overload was too much, as happens to a lesser extent at peak usage times now and then.

He has enormous hidden popularity. Unfortunately for him, as you said, lack of attention breeds more lack of attention.

I’m not a Rand Paul supporter, but he provides a media lesson: The media create their own reality. It’s only natural, for who can be satisfied with just reporting what’s happening? That’s like being the secretary at the board meeting. They lust to have an actual effect on the real world, and the only way they can do that is by lying and otherwise distorting the truth.

Cruz is not Reagan. Reagan was a two term governor and he worked hard to get to POTUS. He tried once and failed and then he won.

He was well known and had a terrific personality.

Reagan also had a long career, outside of politics/government. Another difference. Lots of outside experience, like working with management and managing the SAG. I think he brought a lot to the table when he became Governor.

Hellary trumps Cruz, nationally (per latest poll available), by 7.7

No polls showed Cruz leading Clinton, in the breakdown.

Hellary beats Trump by 2

One poll had Trump ahead and one tied.

Older polls, so not sure what it is today.

Bump to that.

I’ll be happy to vote for Trump if Cruz becomes irrelevant or drops out. But Cruz is my first choice and quite frankly should be the first choice of all who call themselves conservative. I’m not saying this to “bash Trump” I’m saying it because it’s the truth. And anyone who reacts negatively to this hard truth should ask themselves “Why am I not behind Cruz first then Trump? Are bombastic one liners and heavy handed criticisms of the MSM all there is to the conservative movement?”

And hold yourself to the truth for the love of all that is good. The truth of the matter is Cruz is at least as “conservative” as Trump and I submit those who desire the truth over all else will discover Cruz is more than that. I’m not going to argue it especially since I may have to pull a lever for Trump in the future. But an honest search for truth over being “right” will serve as all the proof needed.

I don’t get your point. Joke? I’m not a Cruz supporter anymore. I was earlier in the cycle. When he got bought out on fast track, that was the end for me. Even before Trump came along. TPP has open borders and obamacare buried inside of it. Wikileaks says only 5 pages are about trade.

Cruz is a great conservative, but his chances of winning in general are about the same as nominee Sarah Palin. Every democrat & liberal will come out of the woodwork to vote AGAINST Cruz even if their nominee is Jack the Ripper.

I am surrounded by democrats here in WA state. They hate Cruz like you won’t believe. But many will vote for Trump.

Oh. I chose it partly because conservatives were never called firebrands, only leftists. Now that has changed somewhat. Good.
