An aide to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's (R) likely presidential campaign resigned late Tuesday night just a day after her hire was announced.
Liz Mair, who was a digital strategist for Walker, came under a storm of criticism for her advocacy for some relatively liberal policy positions and colorful tweets that critics claimed were insulting to Iowans.
"In other news, I see Iowa is once again embarrassing itself, and the GOP, this morning. Thanks, guys," Mair wrote about a January event hosted by conservative Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), according to the Associated Press. "The sooner we remove Iowa's front-running status, the better off American politics and policy will be."
Some conservatives were not pleased with her hire. The chairman of the Iowa Republican Party, Jeff Kaufmann, called on Walker to dismiss Mair and the right-leaning site Breitbart News ran a sharply critical story about her support for immigration "amnesty."(continued)

Who vetted her to begin with?
Who was responsible for hiring her? It sounds like a poor choice.
So Liz flew off into a TwitStorm?
Did Steve Schmidt hire her or something?
Sounds like a total liberal plant. They sure are desperate for negative stories on Walker.
Reminds me of the poster holder at a Tea Party rally who turned out to be a liberal operative a couple of years ago.
Who was responsible for hiring her? It sounds like a poor choice.
someone thinking with their , you know
Calls Walker’s judgment into question.
I’ll keep listening to him.
But this is a strike.
Good, quick ejection. Buh-bye.
Walker got mucho heat yesterday for hiring this amnesty shill as his campaign communications director. She’s gone today because of it. Walker will be well shed of her if her ‘communications’ for the campaign were to be of this type. She’s got the makings of another Harf or Psaki.
Maybe she wore a sweater well.
Walker is slowly learning that the GOP is filled with Infiltrators.
He could save a bunch of $$$ by just hanging around FR
A Twitnado!
They all do research here, just like Dems go to Reddit, DU, Kos and MoveOn. Don’t kid yourselves.
Yeah, that was my first thought when she was hired.
I’m a real fan of Walker (although I’m a supporter of Cruz); but I do admire Walker’s ability to take it to the unions.
But, this hire smelled from the moment I heard about it.
Sounds like the correct decision was made.
She sounds immature and stupid enough to be a Hillary assistant.
But, we have no idea how she represented herself.
Like I have said before, I believe Walker is a straight shooter, and just accepted her at face value.
However, if somebody already on his staff recommended her - Walker better get rid of them quickly, because they do not have Walker’s best interests at heart.
I’ll be watching for another resignation.
Why was she hired in the first place?
This has me really worried.
What other little fires are smoldering that we haven’t yet discovered?
What’s the half-life of a digital strategist working for a red hot candidate?
Apparently not long.
Go Wisconsin!
A radioactive state.
