A new Quinnipiac poll comparing potential Democratic candidates for 2016 comes to a familiar conclusion: Hillary Clinton, if she decides to run, would absolutely dominate the competition.
The poll has 65 percent of potential Democratic voters picking Hillary Clinton as their presidential nominee in 2016. That's in line with multiple recent polls including from Gallup, PPP, and PublicMind showing Clinton as the overwhelming favorite in a Democratic primary.
What's interesting about the Quinnipiac poll is that it conducted a separate survey in which Clinton was removed from the race. Which Democrats come out on top if Clinton decides to stay off the campaign trail?
Deval Patrick Support: 6 percent
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is benefiting from what could be called the Chris Christie effect. The governor of New Jersey got a lot of nationwide exposure after Hurricane Sandy, and Patrick has been similarly thrust into the spotlight after the Boston Marathon bombings. The people like what they see.
"An emergency like this shows a new dimension of him," Maurice Cunningham, a political scientist at the University of Massachusetts-Boston, told USA Today. "He has a comforting presence, anyway, and that's an advantage. He has to be reassuring to the public and to show the resolve of people."
Not that he is a new face in the Democratic Party. Now in his second term, Patrick became the first black governor of Massachusetts in 2006. Before that, the Harvard Law graduate served as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights under President Bill Clinton in 1994.....

I still don’t understand why demonrats think hitlery is soooooo awesome
I’d say that America wins if Hillary! doesn’t run in 2016...
Age has not been kind to Hillary. I say she’s already grown too haggardly looking. If she has any chance at all, 2016 would certainly be her last.
We are having an election for several public school district board positions and a whole host of other local slots. Wasn’t familiar with any of the people running so went to a candidate forum. Each spoke for 10 minutes. Guess what I learned about them. Educational background, years they have lived in the area, name of person to whom they are married, how many children they have, how much they care about the future of education, etc.
Not one word about their position on CScope, Core Curriculum, the increase in the budget for the upcoming year, the increase in taxes to cover the cost of more administrators and insurance benefits and retirement, teaching to the multitude of constant testing the students must take, absolutely nothing of substance.
I’m convinced that all of politics is nothing more than a popularity contest. Obama beat Hillary because he was a Black man. And obviously Bill did her wrong. But the Democrat females can make it all up to Hillary by electing her as President and then she can get even with Obama and Bill. Look at all the years she was in the White House. Never mind that most of that time it was as the dutiful wife - Democrats believe she acquired sufficient ability and experience through osmosis and by being Secretary of State under Obama. Look at how hard she worked. Political positions or vision for the country have nothing to do with anything.
To use one of my grandson’s phrases, the entire election process is just pathetic. It’s no wonder our country is in such dire straits.
The candidate who most of the Democrats suport may not be the most electible one.
They think she is awesome because she wears a necklace in public. You gotta get with the times man!

America, the new USSA, is so sick, it makes me want to puke.
I thank God every day that I no longer live there.
This country has changed a lot since it was founded, and not for the better.

Yes it has, and you are right.
I left before I had ever heard of Barky Obumbo.
I see life in America only getting worse.
The people have been so dumbed down by Marxist education and media.
I can see it now....Clinton-Christie ticket....
Maybe they just think that everyone else is sooooo un-awesome.
I don’t think she will be alive in 2016. I think she might be assassinated or have a heart attack like Breitbart. Then it will allow obama to advance his anti-American agenda even further, because there is no longer the expectation for a presidential elect in 2016. The DNC would say there is no one better obama so we should allow infinite amount of terms. They will say the two term limit is outdated. They will say similar things like they do for the gun laws. Who knows maybe such a thing wouldn’t go to a vote. Perhaps obama would simply use a new Executive Order that can only expire with a new President.

Dem’s have fallen into the same trap that historically has snared Republicans. That trap being to nominate the most senior person who’s “turn has come”; I.e., Dole, McCain, Romney. Let’em nominate Hillary. She’s old, and will be older in 2016, tired, fat and burned out. Besides her weight, she has plenty of other baggage that will haunt her even in this non-judgemental era....
I agree with your overall point, but I think there is a wrinkle here.
Romney was involved in politics for decades. He won precisely one election. He's not a senior person. He's not an electable person. He was just a bad, bad choice. It wasn't his turn. He didn't deserve the office. But he was "inevitable".
The GOP makes very odd choices for their candidates. I am under no illusion that the people choose their candidates through primaries -- I don't think it works that way. Romney was selected by the GOP, with very little chance of winning, and for no good reason except perhaps for the fact that he had very little chance of winning.
It’s obvious that being a VOTER takes a lot of hard work, intelligence, and yes, wisdom acquired through experience. How many people are thus qualified? People should have to pass a voter’s test like they do for drivers licenses, educational diplomas, and jobs.
no, wait .....
no, wait .....
If they want another Communist; anyone in the Lib party will do.
