I've been hearing that some groups of people are not welcome at Free Republic anymore, but I didn't believe what I was hearing because that seems like the complete opposite of "Free". I've heard that supporters of Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and more are no longer welcome to post at this site.
This site is about uniting people together against the liberal onslaught that is ruining our country and we could use all the help we can get right?
Please correct me so I can correct others who have told me that this is the case. A new slogan is making it's rounds that 'the Free Republic has become anything but.'
We have always been at war with Eastasia.

Are you mentally sound by any chance? Because you were here just the other day defending Romney and promoting "a mix of Romney and Huckabees ideas" (i.e., Socialism and Bigger Government). In other words, you were promoting something that is decidedly NOT conservative.
Are you aware that you are posting on a conservative Web site, not a Republican one?
You're digging your own hole, I'm afraid. If that were true and you did "frequent this board," then you'd know people don't get banned for the candidates they do or don't support, but for being ugly, vicious asshats who make personal attacks based on pure emotion. Therefore, your original post tends to make FReepers like me think that either you're not well-read at all on Free Republic and are either lying about it or grossly overestimate your espertise of FR -- or that you are deliberately fishing for negative reaction for whatever purpose you may have.
Then again, the RED FLAG was waved in your original post where you vaguely talk about "a new slogan making the rounds," and yet refrain from saying WHICH rounds, and fail to say WHO is spreading the word. You're talking about what's being said around your water cooler ... but don't tell where your water cooler is.
You smell pretty fishy to me, dear.
I would support any of those against Obama, so I don’t think there is such a purge.
I have had my share of letters from the moderator. In most cases, the moderator was right.
I don’t think my friend is a liar, but I’m trying to give this community the benefit of doubt. If some people have been purged simply for expressing support for a candidate’s ideas in a polite way, then I think those people should be unbanned. Doesn’t that seem fair?
Troll.
The troll is live.
I don’t think that’s accurate. I was banned a year or so ago - with no warning, no explanation, no nothing - and when I got Jim Robinson to finally tell me what it was for, he sent me an email that said “Did you post this?” It was some article that I don’t remember posting which was mildly critical of Fred Thompson - who I always liked a lot. Again, the key was, there was no explanation at all, nor even a notification that I had been banned. My account simply wouldn’t work any longer.
My understanding from some people that I talked to about it at that time was that there had been some people given admin moderator access who had gone on personal vendettas against those with whom they disagreed about basically anything.
If you can't see that then you haven't been lurking as you say. Most likely you are a troll.
I think Obama is trying to link his to Romney’s to do two things.
1. He thinks he might be able to get some conservatives to think his plan isn’t too bad.
2. He can get conservatives to turn on Romney.
The truth is that the worst part of Mitt’s plan in Mass. were the mandates that Romney fought against. Mitt knows his plan isn’t perfect and now that enough time has passed since the plan was enacted, Mitt (if elected) will be able to construct a much better plan for the country and he will get support for it because we all know mandates are bad.
I am especially tired of the posters who say ..well, some Freepers say.... then go on to slam an anonymous group.
I wish they'd either complain directly to the offender ( that's called taking responsibility), hit abuse, or shut up; and it sounds like you would too.
Advocating Big Government on a conservative Web site? Do you have a death wish, noob?
Yep. A couple other words come to mind, too, like honesty and integrity. And maybe courage.
I just love the reference to all them people who told him about FR banning.
HE HAS PEOPLE!!
No, I think you are being treated poorly because you are a bit presumptuous for a new guy.
Hardly anyone gets banned for Romneyism or Huckabitis as far as I have seen.
Follow the rules and grow a thick skin and you should be fine, the Mods
are very fair and will tolerate a lot as long as you keep it civil.
I'm still here, and I can be annoying as hell and have a habit
of posting too much negativity and irrelevant literary criticisms.
Give it some time before you try to shake the tree is my advice.
The fact you are supporting Romney shows that your whole post was bogus. You won't be banned for supporting him, but you will be dumped on by other FReepers. Why? Because this is a conservative site, not a Republican site. Romney is not conservative and has more in common with Bozo the WH clown than he does with conservatives.
