I think Tom Tancredo would be the best choice for President in 2008. He's a solid conservative on all issues such as taxes, the war on terror, and moral values. Most importantly, he is strong on the issue of immigration and border control, which is what differentiates him from most other potential candidates, many of whom have sided with the liberals on this issue. This issue will help win swing voters and bring new voters out, since polls have shown most Americans believe that better enforcement of immigration laws is needed. Unlike Buchanan, Tancredo doesn't have controversial positions on middle east foreign policy and free trade to weigh him down.
I set up a yahoo group for others who feel the same way, and will have a website when someone who is able to volunteers to make one.

Mission Statement:
We support the possible candidacy of Congressman Tom Tancredo in the 2008 Presidential Election. Tom Tancredo is a solid and principled Conservative. On one issue in particular, illegal immigration, Tom Tancredo has been a strong proponent of those positions held by a majority of Americans, even when that means going against powerful interests in his own party. Our objectives are to:
1. Encourage Representative Tancredo to run for President in 2008.
2. Advocate the possibility of his candidacy, and remind the media to include him in their lists of 'potential presidential candidates'
3. Establish a grass-roots activist network to work for victory if Representative Tancredo decides to run for President
If we really want to get the dems in a tizzy, we should talk up Jeb Bush for president.
LOL! That would be GREAT! Lets....
Tancredo=Buchanan...
ummmm I dont think so.....
The best thing the Democrats could do for their long-term chances is to help Tancredo get the GOP nomination.
I respectfully disagree.......I love Tancredo, but I think he is currently in the political office that will serve America the best: the House of Representatives. If we could find more people with his commotted, princopled conservative stand--& elect enuff of them nationwide to form a House majority--Big Government would DISAPPEAR, because it wouldn't get the funding that the Constitution requires to be drawn up w/in the House.
I have another candidate: how 'bout J.C. WATTS???
He is a CLASS ACT, a true conservative, very intelligent, & from what I've seen, he always has a smile on his face. I really admire him & would be PROUD to call Mr. Watts my President. Anyone agree w/ me here?
The best man is from Colorado and that man is Governor Bill Owens. He is truly a giant in the making. He has the same qualities as President Bush and will be a great successor. let's spend our time promoting Owens. tancredo needs to stay in congress.
I have said in all of these threads:
Frist/Allen, Frist/Watts or Allen/Watts.
Dubya has created a legacy that is coming close to Reagan's. Let's not ruin it with a wishy washy moderate.
I voted Tancredo/Duncan Hunter myself. I think Duncan would be a good candidate in 08 too but I think we will be stuck with the same old RINO candidates. Same ole bunch.
I don't think Tancredo has even the smallest chance as people are stuck on the neocon candidates. Karl Rove hates him and that in itself means he would have a very hard time even getting in the race. Ugh, I cannot stand Karl Rove.
Also, Bush is set to pass the FTAA though in January, better keep an eye on that, it will ERASE our borders and then someone like Tancredo is pissing in the wind. I fear it is too late, welcome to MexiMerica!
Rice/Tancredo in 2008.
"Bush got 45% of the hispanic vote in this election. Tancredo would get what?"
Sure he did....by promoting illegal immigration.
Sold!
No, and it's a false premise. It's not necessary to do one to accomplish the other.
Tancredo is not a threat to win the nomination, so the discussion is pretty moot, but if he did get it, he'd do about as well as Alan Keyes did in the US Senate race in Illinois.
Bush got 45% of the hispanic vote in this election.
