Bush got 45% of the hispanic vote in this election. Tancredo would get what? The best thing the Democrats could do for their long-term chances is to help Tancredo get the GOP nomination.

No, and it's a false premise. It's not necessary to do one to accomplish the other.

Tancredo is not a threat to win the nomination, so the discussion is pretty moot, but if he did get it, he'd do about as well as Alan Keyes did in the US Senate race in Illinois.
