I just got my mower back from Leon, my repairman. New belts and new blades. Leon says, "This thing is a mowing machine now!"
Well...yeah...that's what I paid $600 for, Leon. And with all these repairs it's now up to around $750. Sheesh!

I look forward to the continuing tales of Kurt's Lawn mower.

Kay, thanks for that JohnHuang2 heads up!
Things in Kali-for-knee-ai are getting weirder by the day. I can't believe the number of people that are actually buying into Arnold and his spiel. They keep talking about Reagan and how he was an actor too - but, but, he had plenty of political savvy and know-how.
I'm just glad that Tom McClintock is NOT going to drop out of the race. He has the experience, the know-how and my vote.

You would think the boys would take better care of their toys.

I have always, from the time I was a kid, loved autumn and winter. I feel SO much better when the air is crisp and the leaves are multi-colored and yes, that anticipation of snow is in the air.I feel the same way. I love fall and winter. I love the smell of the air.

Has anyone heard from Chair?
BTW, the interview went well, and I go fill out my new employee packet next Tuesday. The job is going to be a nightmare for the first month or so, but that's ok. I finally made a decision about how to deal with the reserves at interviews and we agreed that I am giving my new boss 3 months advance notice of any deployments or drill weekends.

That's ok. I did a gut check and knew that I couldn't withhold important information from my employeer, and scheduling is very important in a kitchen. I didn't go into a lot of details about things that will happen next year, but he certainly understands that I have an obligation to serve.

Way to go, John!!!
I think you've handled this just right. I couldn't think of any other solutions .... besides being less than honest and I knew that wasn't you. Glad it's worked out ..... :-)

Some of you may remember me mentioning a friend of my younger boychild who was diagnosed with brain cancer a couple of years ago.
He is not expected to make it through the weekend.
May I respectfully ask for prayer for his family? His mom just called and would like my son & the other guys in the "group" to go visit Jeff one last time; she sounded very rough; I can't imagine what she is going through.
My son hasn't spent a lot of time with Jeff in recent months.............I think it is hard for young men to face their own mortality..........but I hope he does go and see his friend one more time. (I have to break this news to him when he gets home, which should be shortly.)
Jeff is barely conscious, can't speak or swallow, but still looks at people when they speak to him.
This kid is a drummer...........was always full of life and vitality..........this is just so sad.........
