That's ok. I did a gut check and knew that I couldn't withhold important information from my employeer, and scheduling is very important in a kitchen. I didn't go into a lot of details about things that will happen next year, but he certainly understands that I have an obligation to serve.

Is it honestly realistic to expect that you will get 3 months notice before you're deployed? I know people who got less than a weeks notice.
