Glad you're okay Dog, and Sadie, too, we presume!
Thanks Dolly for your caring advice. Yes, I get carbs...just had some ice cream.
The transition every Sept is especially hard for me. The sunlight is down...temps cooler..Once the leaves fall off the trees, and the house is a little brighter, even with the shorter days, that seems to help.
Jane thanks for that link. Looks excellent, and Gerlenter is always so thoughtful!
So lysie, it sounds like you've had some clean-up added on top of the old stuff. Enjoy the special time with your son, and grandson - I hope he's there too!
Talk to everyone later!

Wisconsin is pretty. I want one! ;-)
In all seriousness, though, wow! I would love to live in a place that pretty.

Bye Sweetie. For your sake I hope there are a few more warm days in your neck of the woods.
Just keep 'em down there. ;^)

I thought all of Wisconsin was the northwoods....:-)"
Well, north to you, maybe, but not all woods.:)
The REAL northwoods start about 50 miles north of here and it is gorgeous......Nicollet National Forest.

Fall is a major downer for me also. I have begun to cross country ski just becuase I do like to be outside & that is one way to enjoy the outdoors & do exploring.
BUT.. the sun, warmth, flowers, water.. etc. BIGGEST PROBLEM IN LIVING IN OHIO IS THE SHORT SEASON.
No doubt about it
Next biggest problem in living in Ohio (our sport teams suck)
but weather.. ugh. When I left Ohio for the south in the late 60s I vowed I would never live in cold climates again.
HA. God has ways of making us eat our words.
Off topic.. Rush L just said he has 3 cats. Declawed. just going off about it.... funny

It is very pretty, and part of what makes it so, IMHO, is the changing of the seasons.......right now it is green, green, green everywhere (well, with a bit of orange creeping in); in three weeks it will be brilliant shades of red and orange and yellow everywhere you look; then three weeks after that it will be subdued shades of brown and black (the black being the silhouettes of leafless trees, which look especially beautiful against a brilliant sunset;) then a few weeks more and it will be white, white, white!!!!!!!
After that of course it will be yucky spring with mud everywhere (my least favorite season, esp. early spring) and then back to summer (my 2nd least favorite, except for late summer, like now) and then beautiful autumn again!!!!!
To: DollyCali; Molly Pitcher
My Mom is the same way. Autumn brings her down. WAY down, sometimes. My girlchild is the same way, too.
I have always, from the time I was a kid, loved autumn and winter. I feel SO much better when the air is crisp and the leaves are multi-colored and yes, that anticipation of snow is in the air.
I have a large jar candle named "Autumn Afternoon". I bought it last spring so I could light it and think of fall.:)
I know I'm WAY in the minority on this. What can I say???;^)
To: Guenevere
Thanks for the follow up on the fire, Guennie. We use a humidistat at the FL abode. Yikes!

autumn is definitely the most beautiful season to me. But it hearalds the end of warmth..
But I love woods in spring with the new flowers pushing up the forest floor....... in winter in deep woods the fresh snow is breathtaking.
I have found i love all seasons but at different places. I like HOT summer at the ocean..
I have lived in different places & each has its unique topography & pluses.
I have a couple gig of fall pix that I have taken over the years.. mountains, reflected colorful mountains in lakes..
today here is wonderful.. the sun came out.. the winds seem to have missed us.. it is 68 & a nice breeze. My flowers in yard are still blooming profusely & I still have my summer tan!
Now if the flood in my basement would go away( the flood I am ignoring), life would be truly sweet
Early spring is fun .. no bugs & minimal allergens
Winter in carolinas had the annoying ice storms but they were beautiful to see (not drive in not wait for days for power to be restored when frozen tree limbs took out the lines)

#155..Oh dear, didn't mean to upset you.
But this is the only explanation they're coming up with now....
...maybe something clogged in the AC system.
Are you back home again by now?

Did you know I spent a summer in Wisconsin? It was 1977, the year I graduated from high school. I left western Nebraska and spent the summer working in the kitchen at a camp in Wisconsin.
It was a hot, humid summer and I spent most of my days leaning over a steaming sink washing pots and pans. Thanks to our baker, though, I managed to gain about 10 lbs. that summer.
