                  | My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky
 I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides
we would dip and we would glide
 through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
 my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

You really are good at this. Have you been holding out on us?

Thanks Snippy.

You are a dagger thrust into my chest
that lay the love in my heart to rest.
You told me that you did care,
so why can't I find you anywhere?
You knew my heart beat for you,
love made me blind to what was true.
Your tongue was full of poisonous lies,
but I was caught spellbound by the gleam in your eyes.
Those gleaming eyes of beautiful blue...
I still think of their shady hue.
I used to think there was no cure
for this feeling I found so pure,
but now I see I've wasted my youth...
it hurts to know the wicked truth.
This pain in my heart was unforseen.
The gleam in your eyes, the DAGGER'S gleam!

I've been told I'm good at writing heartbreak.
I have more like this, that's why my poetry is
considered depressing.
To: Darkchylde
I like that one. Sometimes "painful" poetry is just what is needed.

    Painful poetry.

I'll have to think up some painful haiku. Although, my haiku is probably already painful. LOL!!!

Ha ha! I'm going for romantic now, look out!

Trust me, I have more than enough. If it
isn't "painful", it's weird 'cause I haven't
slept. I wrote one called "Vertigo" & another
entitled "Mondays". Both are strange since
I wrote them while staying up late. I have
29 poems at this point in time, though one
of them just doesn't look finished to me. I have
a 30th in the works. It's different 'cause it
doesn't involve heartache or no sleep. Not sure
how it's going to turn out though, my mind stalled
after six lines.
To: snippy_about_it
LOL! I've heard my poetry described that way, painful to read.

 Would it be so wrong
 To melt into your embrace
 And you into mine?

 Unaware of me
 you wrap yourself around me
 I am your pillow

My pillow isn't half as sensitive...
To: snippy_about_it
You're good at the "romatic" stuff! Those are beautiful. I would struggle for hours to come up with those and mine wouldn't be that touching.

I better keep an eye on you or Bentfeather will have you over here all the time.

My pillow isn't half as sensitive... LOL. No, darn it. I've not done a good job if I have to explain. There's really no pillow here.
Now I don't care for poetry that I can't understand what they are talking about and now here I am writing it. Arrrgghh!
Thank goodness it's not my day job. ;)
Yours is quite good Darkchylde and your young so you should keep it up. Obviously there is writing talent that runs in your family.

(Ever try surfing FR while sitting upside down? Not for the soft of head, sorry DUers.)

Thrust through the Door of the Night
without e'en a candle for Light
A wanderer without a name
The usual suspects to blame
The daylight rejects me.
The twilight accepts me.
And everything is as it was..
Wandering under the Moon
can't even whistle a tune
Wandering on through the night
Wondering just what is right
The wisp lights despise me.
And shadows, they hide me
As jealousy gnawed at her mind.
Down to the forgotten graves.
The dead men, they peacefully lay
Waiting for the end of the Night
And for Someone to bring them some Light
silent, she finds me
sirens, they blind me
And another stone pokes from the ground
Out from the Door of the Night
Hidden from inner sight
Never had use for a name
Never had time for that game
Wanderings' over
Eternal Loner
And meaning has yet to be found.

I understood, I was just teasing a bit.
Glad you like my poetry. Sometimes I
wonder if I like it... & after all, my
opinion counts the most. I like certain
poems I've written, others... not so much.
However... I wrote a haiku!! Here goes...

Sometimes I wonder
why love is so hard to find
and I'm still searching.
To: Darkchylde
Very good. Uh-oh, now I have competition. :)

Post 433, "Door of the night" is more or less a song in actuality.
But, since I cannot write music or play an instrument, the tune exists only in my head.

Not really, I haven't slept yet.
Some straaaange stuff comes to
my mind when I'm lacking sleep.
I'll demonstrate... this one is "Mondays"

A human ball of arms & legs rolling down fifth street.
Now there's a sight that can't be beat.
A great king from a greater unknown
declares his kingdom will never be shown.
He's not in love, he's not in like.
After all, his wife is a dyke.
A lancer named Lance was lanced in the pants.
Meanwhile, some gun bunny found a gun bunny honey.
Headlines are funny that way,
they have to sound good, don't have to be true...
Did you know I came from the zoo?
I actually made front page news.
Right now, my room-mates are a couple of grues...
who are missing a few too many screws.
My horoscope for today says I'll be run down by a giant ball on Fifth street.
But everyone knows horoscopes.....
To: Darksheare
    It's good.

LOL. Darksheare, as far as the music existing only in your head, I'm convinced that a lot of things only exist in your head. ;)

I'm kidding with you. You know I think your writing is very good albeit a little on the "dark" side.

Admittedly, some of it is on the 'dark' side.
