I don't know if anyone else has noticed them, but Fox News is doing some AWESOME adds thanking and praying for our troops.

We are all good at writing angry e-mails when we feel passionate about something said or done that we disagree with. But how about we give an "atta boy" to Fox News. What they are doing is AWESOME!!!

Fox News has been captioned 24/7 since the liberation began. They are the ONLY news channel to do so. Hopefully they have gained some deaf viewers as a result of this.

I have been emailing them for a long time now asking and begging them to start captioning 24/7. So, it really pleases me to see this happening.

Look, you guys, I reallllly need your help this time. Fox News has STOPPED captioning their news. Looks like they went back to their normal schedule of captioned news.

I am so desperate here. I'm at my lowest low. I cannot keep up with the news without captioning. I'm sneaking in here (my hubby is asleep) to ask and beg you guys to EMAIL Fox News and demand they keep their captioning going. They were doing great since the beginning of the liberation up until now. They've stopped. Apparently they've gone back to their sucky schedule of captioning until 11 pm. Pls, pls, pls email them and demand it.

Help me out. I'm so down abt this. It's just not fair. I'm sorry if I come across as whiny but this liberation of Iraq and keeping up with the news is soooo important to me. I thought we had it this time.

Pls help me out.

You mean they don't have "caption on" at all times for the hearing impaired?? I'm tired and I think I'm not quite understanding your request.

A tired person, but certainly willing to e-mail them if this is true. I see the scrolling across the bottom as I type this, so I guess you have to be talking about the closed caption capabilities.

I don't see it that way because it give family members back at home a chance to see their loved ones in a large gathering. Believe me if the CO didn't authorize it, it wouldn't have been done like that.

Yes, I mean closed captioning. Sorry, we deafies just call it captioning. I'm still bummed out. It's still not captioned this morning. Before the war began, they were captioning their news from seven am til 11 pm. Looks like they are back to that now. Bummer.

Can you use your ping list too, Meek?

Let me explain a little bit more in case you do ping others. I have been emailing Fox News forever about closed captioning their news 24/7. Fox News only captions their news from 7 am til 11 pm on weekdays. And a couple of hours on the evenings of the wknds. MSNBC which is dead last in the ratings captions their news from six am til midnight during the wk and on the wknds from 7 am til 9 pm. You would think Fox News being tops in the ratings would have the means and money to provide full time captioning for their deaf viewers.

Now, since the liberation began, Fox News was the only news network to do the 24/7 captioning until 11 pm last night. A bunch of us had emailed them thanking them for captioning their coverage non-stop but now looks like those thanks went unheeded. I don't know what else I can do. Is their anyway I can get a hold of the higher ups in the network about this? I feel they are ignoring the emails.

The battle for Baghdad is about to begin and I don't want to miss ANYTHING. Looks like I'm going to. I'm really desperate.

I just emailed this to all the email addresses above. Here's what I sent:

I'm hoping you will bring attention to this to the higher ups of the news channel. Okay, I have been emailing Fox News for quite a while now asking and begging them to start close captioning their news coverage non-stop 24/7. I never got any kind of answer nor any action taken.

BUT....since the liberation of the Iraqis began, Fox News was the ONLY news channel to caption their news coverage 24/7, that is, UNTIL last night (3/25) at 11 pm. A bunch of us had emailed our thanks to Fox News for the non stop captioning and asking them to keep it up. Now, I feel like our emails went unheeded. I'm frustrated to no end. I don't know what else to do. I've tried calling to talk to a live person but always fail to do so.

Here's something that doesn't make any sense to me. Fox News is the top rated news network. MSNBC is DEAD last in the ratings. BUT MSNBC captions more than Fox News does. How can that be? You'd think Fox News would have the means and the money to provide 24/7 captioning. Just imagine Fox News being the only news channel to provide captioning 24/7, you would blow away the competition even more by drawing more deaf viewers. You see, The Weather Channel made news in deaf history by being the first and ONLY station to provide 24/7 captioning. It was advertised in the deaf newspapers all over the country. Fox News could break huge barriers in doing this. You all have been bold these last few years. Why not be a little bolder and venture a little further by providing 24/7 captioning?

Fair and Balanced? Yes as far as the news reporting and No as far as captioning.

We Report and You Decide? How the heck can we decide if the news is not captioned full-time?

Maybe it's time for Fox News to live up to its slogans.

Operation Iraqi Freedom is very important to many of us and we're simply unable to keep up with it without nonstop captioning.

I would recommend that when (not if) Fox News does provide 24/7, that you all advertise it like crazy on air. You will definitely gain deaf viewers. Don't let them be stuck to watching MSNBC or CNN.
