This is his assurance to everyone watching that we are in the end stages of this very tiresome dance that's been going on at the UN. Get ready.
I don't think that Freepers need this assurance, but some do.

80% of the population doesn't follow the news like the average Freeper. This is for the soccer mom's in Peoria and our allies around the world...

The American Public doesn't spend hours on FR like we do !

I didn't even watch it.. figured I would catch the highlights here.
Usually if there's something big to announce, it leaks before hand.

"Bush said nothing new."
Um, the press conference is still going on.

This is to say to reporters that he has answered their questions before we go into Iraq.

He hasn't had a news conference since November, so it was about time. And he's answering questions RIGHT NOW. So your assertion that he's said nothing new is premature. It ain't over till it's over.

Q&A still going on, but he named it very early on: The one question Hans Blix has to answer is, "Has Saddam completely disarmed?" If the answer is anything but an unequivocal yes, it's time to roll. That's my take, anyway...

This press conference is total garbage. I am a loyal and patriotic American...Bush is our President and I respect him as such, but if I were to say that I wasn't losing confidence in him I would be lying. He is looking more and more like his dad...
To: ChicagoRepublican
He keeps saying his job is to protect The American People. He said our oceans used to protect us, but now terrorists have made America a battlefield. Nothing said about keeping all the terrorist riffraff out of America. (I see vastly more Moslems around the Silicon Valley since 9/11.)
To: ChicagoRepublican
You're right. Pres. Bush said nothing. But perhaps what he intended to say when he first scheduled the press conference was preempted by events that we are not aware of. Anyway, it's a thought.
And by the way, wasn't it a delight to see that that old battle-axe, Helen Thompson, didn't get to as the first question?

What Was the Point of Tonight's Press Conference Equal time. CBS gave an hour to Saddam, so they owe Bush an hour.

To have the President himself reiterate the facts, (instead of Powell again - ad nauseum) and to get in front of the condemnation of the axis of weasels when we say screw off to the UN next week, if the weasels stand in our way. I think Americans like to hear the deal directly from the President at a time like this.
Hasn't he gotten much smoother at this press conference thing? I am noticing that tonight.
