I'd suggest you check out the NSA's website on the Venona de-crypts before accusing the JBS of "weaving" theories. Their anti-communist sensitivities have been long-since vindicated. I'll grant you they are a one-note overture on "the conspiratorial model" of history, but it's no different than listening to liberals villify corporate corruption. Put three sisters in a room and two of them will conspire against the other. It's human nature, and people get tired of hearing about it, but the JBS authors sometimes hit on connections decades before the mainstream even begins to go into conscious denial spin-mode.

IMHO many of these types of organizations have some level of truth and justified paranoia. They just take it too far and tend to leave reality behind.

I do not think that the Government as a whole is involved in some conspiracy to overthrow our sovereignty and establish a "One World Government".

Gosh, where could I get a copy of that Bircher SOP manual? You see, I am not, nor have ever been a Bircher, and am really disappointed that none of my Bircher acquaintances have ever shown me their SOP volume(s).

Sorry to overwhelm you. Independent of this JBS BS (I see your jive and raise you five), you owe it to yourself to check out the NSA site anyway. It's a fascinating look into cold war activity and not so glamorous espionage. BTW, the technique you mention is not a logical fallacy, but a persuasion or propaganda technique known as an appeal to authority. I think on this topic I'll have to defer to your authority (the lady doth protest too much me thinks).

What's the goal of this organization and is it Conservative?

It's kind of like a book-selling club, a pyramid or MLM (multi-level marketing scheme) and Tupper-ware like organization all rolled into one -

- BUT with secret handshakes and their own publications geared toward a dedicated level of *real* political inaction (sans voting) for the purposes of selling books, magazines and video.

The original premise seemingly had merit - but it's been mired down by an 'overhead' more concerned nowadays with BH based BS and an unending number of conspiracy theories ... couple that with a need to 'turn revenue' - and you have current state-of-affairs.

As to 'logical persuasion' - the piling on high of material and the subtle insinuation as to an underlying sinister nature is indictment by innuendo - NOT presentation of fact. The 'connection', made my well-written yet vacuous material being the method by which un-linked cause and effect are tied together for the simple minds to grasp. Their cited causes are linked to their cited and specific effects. (IF ever there was an organization SUITED for infiltration and 'takeover' by third-worlders and gov't types - it would be the JBS. Ironic - huh?)

The simple constant 'claiming' of world takeover by a number of individuals with the goal being to enslave man goes CONTRARY to the direction man has been going for quite some time now.

Yet, there is that limited intellect crowd that cannot conceive (let alone recognize) that trend. Again, that is the crowd the JBS would seem to be 'hawking' their wares to and collecting a 'royalty' from for the privilege for doing so!

From what I've read, they associate the United Nations with communism and a group called the Council on Foreign Relations, a "think tank" in New York City.

I hear the UN mentioned everyday in the news so you know they are a controlling force.

Many people say many things. I was once told the Masons want to destroy the Catholic Church, was this person a Mason who told me this? No, it wasn't. So how did he know? Someone told him, I guess.

Many people "hear" things over and over again, there is a term for this, the left-wing press and the liberals use this tactic all the time e.g. global warming, tolerance, big oil, rain forests, gun control, republicans are only for the rich, fossil fuels, hate crimes and the more you "hear" it the more one believes it.

I guess you have not read the many comments by Clinton, Blair and other "leaders" in the Liberal movement of today. Nor have you compared those speeches in content and style to those of Third Way glory past.

They have used the actual words "Third Way" and have aligned policy that would make Mussolini proud. The History is there and so is the politics.

You sir are the one playing in the intellectual sand box. Or maybe out of fear of being called a nut you just bury your head there.

It is not a conspiracy, there are no Black Helicopters. The "Government" is not hiding some secrete agenda to eliminate our freedoms and join some "One World Government.

It is SOME individual people in power that have the desire to meld Socialism and Capitalism (a twisted form brought to control though Fascism) into the Third way on a Global scale.
