I'd suggest you check out the NSA's website on the Venona de-crypts before accusing ... yada yada yada
Of course, SOP for a Bircher per the following:
One of the most striking tactics that the John Birch Society (JBS) and other conspiracy theorists commonly use on this issue is to overwhelm the opponent with information.

The assumption, of course, is the common fallacy of logic that since there is so much information available on the subject that it must be true; the sheer enormity of printed text unquestionably makes it fact.

Gosh, where could I get a copy of that Bircher SOP manual? You see, I am not, nor have ever been a Bircher, and am really disappointed that none of my Bircher acquaintances have ever shown me their SOP volume(s).

Sorry to overwhelm you. Independent of this JBS BS (I see your jive and raise you five), you owe it to yourself to check out the NSA site anyway. It's a fascinating look into cold war activity and not so glamorous espionage. BTW, the technique you mention is not a logical fallacy, but a persuasion or propaganda technique known as an appeal to authority. I think on this topic I'll have to defer to your authority (the lady doth protest too much me thinks).
