Well, I have been DOG CHASING! Cassie got out as Mr. Marple was leaving for his office, so off I went, leash in hand.
Fortunately, a lovely couple who know her happened upon me as Cassie went under a hedge chasing a cat, winding up in a back yard surrounded with a privacy fence with NO GATE. The owners weren't home, I could hear Cassie baying in the yard, and I am sure the poor cat has now had a nervous breakdown. I was going to attempt to go under the hedge when Cassie crawled out, having gotten the scent of their dog. Of course, she goes right up to the couple and they were able to snag her collar.
Then I put the leash on her, but she went into her mule imitation and wouldn't budge, so the kind people held her leash while I jogged all the way home and got the car, and FINALLY the silly thing condescended to move, whereupon I drove her home.
She is quite pleased with herself. I am glad I started walking again or I would be exhausted.
Now, off to order by phone a needlepoint from PALM BEACH, the only place I could find a canvas of Paris which I want to get done for my daughter for Christmas.
To: Miss Marple
Well that Cassie sure does love taking you for a ride...or vice a versa...LOL.

Canvas ordered. They asked me if I wanted them to pull threads for the canvas, and I almost said "only if you can count them correctly" but I refrained. LOL!
To: Mr. Mulliner
Isn't that the most hilarious cartoon? I saw it last night and it made me laugh out loud! And it is SO TRUE!!
To: Miss Marple
ROTFLMAO....count them correctly hahahaha

That was a GAME! No score into the 6th....long rain delay, then Seattle scored, we tied, and we won with a walk-off home run in the 9th by a rookie just up from Triple A!
AND we got to Arthur "Are my diamond earrings BIG enough??" Rhodes! That was the best!
Yes Oakland killed us in 4 games last week...their pitching is something else....
Well the series continues this afternoon.
Good going on the interview!
til- Sorry about your disappointment and the poor llama. You hate to lose him, of course.
b4 - Football! LOL! WHOOSH to you too.
Off to get fresh corn and tomatoes for supper.
Mr. M - one more thing: The Quiet Man is one of my all-time favorite movies, too. Such spirit and humor and aliveness.

Several more cases of West Nile viruses in n.e. Ohio...Keep that mosquito repellent on, Molly. We've got it in birds in our county, but not in people so far.

I kept hearing radio news reports yesterday saying that the Secret Court rebuffed on the Justice Department because it filed false reports..........not bothering to mention that it was
XLINTON's Justice Department that lied, and that it was
BUSH'S Justice Department that was cleaning up the mess. Totally misleading to the average, uninformed listener.
It's enough to make you crazy sometimes!!

That's right; all of the screw-ups were under Reno-Freeh (and if anyone wants background on it,
here it is...). Makes you wonder about who appointed the court, and who they are, tho...

Speaking of the Mariners, polly, that reminds me of you, and of the gread distance you traveled this year.Hope all is well.

My classes start on Monday at the University. I have a cushy schedule this semester (I'm only part time, as you know). I teach the same class twice in a row on Monday and Wednesday. I teach at another local college, but through the same University, and they are on quarters, so that class doesn't start until the end of September.
That means only two preps, and the one class is going to be very easy. It's called Aural Training for Early Childhood majors, and I get to teach them to sing, play the recorder, and continue learning keyboard skills, so that they can use music in their classrooms, apart from the regular music classes taught at their schools.
Music used to be so much a part of the fabric of life in America that it wasn't as critical to teach it in schools, but singing is a fading art in our culture......people don't stand around the piano at night and sing, nursery rhymes are passe, a smaller percentage of Americans go to church, where singing is a very important part of worship, work songs don't exist anymore (except the cadences in the Army!), so it really needs to be supplemented in schools.
Hmmmmm......I think I just gave a lecture! Sorry! :o)

Good morning to you too Neets! Nice job on the thread today!
We haven't heard from Eric yet, but I guess that's normal when they first get to AIT. Reception should start Monday. At Ft. Lee, he'll be within walking distance of the Petersburg battlefield, so as a Civil War buff, he's really anxious to get there on a pass sometime.
I'll be writing a full report next week on the graduation, and I'll let everyone on ATRW know when it's posted.

I feel I must redeem myself today.
Therefore, I will resist tempation. No dalliance with Mr. Rivendell today!
Although, I might listen to some rock while I clean, in honor of my idol, the wild one (Guenevere).

That's a great opening, and he deserves plenty of kudos for bearing up so well under the amount of attacks he endures from those that say they wish FR well, but in fact, do not.Thank you JR.
And also a thank you,and the rest, for making the ATRW one of the few refuges' on FR from the coarseness and bitterness that is causing many on the Right to lose focus.Or, bringing to view their own particular brand of "conservatism" that does a good job of alienating others who can't match their passion.Since when do people have to apologize for being turned off by certain types of posters with their hardwired POV's?
To: Molly Pitcher
Molly, I told Eric that this was a good summer to miss the Indians' season. He's a loyal fan, and has been spared some grief by being outside the normal lines of communication.
btw, President Bush is on Fox Live right now, and doing a wonderful job in his speech!

For Californians, Fox went back and showed the beginning of the speech, which they missed live, in which President Bush had very complimentary things to say about Bill Simon!
Ha! Seems like Roger Ailes knows what the California media is up to!
To: Miss Marple
What I heard from him at the breakfast this morning was really complimentary, too.
I think the phrase he used that Simon was a "breath of fresh air" (used, not incidentally to describe the President and First Lady in January of 2001), sound like a high words of praise to me.

You're just supposed to understand that it's their
emotions speaking, and you're supposed to ignore their actual words.
I, for one, am sick of weeding through insults and bashing to get whatever point is being made, and am tired of getting bashed myself if I question their angry rhetoric.
I'm sticking with the FR refuges these days. I don't have time for the rest.
