Good Morning.....
Thank-you for allowing me to share from Lisa Beamer's story.....As we approach the anniversary of 9/11, let us remember Todd Beamer's sacrifice, and the sacrifice of others.....
When friends took the contents of Todd's car, and brought them to Lisa, one item they found was intriguing.
In the armrest tray between the seat, Todd had some Scripture memorization cards that he used while driving.
The top card on the stack, the one he would have read on Sept.11 was Romans 11:33-36.
..from Lisa Beamer ...."It was the exact passage of Scripture that had helped me through my questions following my dad's death, the same passage I'd been reminded of at Wheaton College, and the very passage that had been my memory verses for the Bible Study I was preparing, the week before Todd died."
....from World Magazine...
.....
I found this passage of Lisa's story very poignant....
...having just seen the movie Signs....and understanding God DOES comfort us here on earth, these were compelling words.
Blessings on all today!!
I'm running late this AM.....breakfast to fix...
....Wake up, you all......but wait for gc to grab his coffee and be first in line :)
Later...
I was first this morning after Guennie did another excellent job of getting things rolling....and I'm in the Central time zone.
Miss Marple, I saw you on the Georgia Primary thread last night. Hope you didn't spend your anniversary just freeping.
And since you were so busy, I don't know if you had a chance to see that I gave you a link to an online P.G. Wodehouse story, "Uncle Fred Flits By," one of my all time favorites. In that story, my Wodehouse newsgroup nickname's namesake, "the pink chap," appears. Don't think I'll use it here at Free Republic as a nick because it could be misunderstood.
Here's the link again in case you missed it: Uncle Fred Flits By.
Did you see that I provided a link to that James Thurber story yesterday?
CYNTHIA McKINNEY LOST!!
Hahahahahahaha!
Concerning your screen name, why not pick a name from the Wodehouse books? There are plenty to choose from (although I think Jeeves is taken) and your only challenge would be to find a short name (Gussie Fink-Nottle would be pretty hard for people to remember). Thanks for the story link, by the way. I read it last night.
Pinging all y'all who are sleeping in!!!
Thank-you for allowing me to share from Lisa Beamer's story.
Thank you, Guennie.
MM..did cynthia concede or will she take this to the Georgia courts? /sarcasm.
Verb Osity
Pleo Nastic
maybe ...
Tauto Logous
Har!
Thank you for the update on your daughter! I have been thinking about her. I become increasingly convinced you need to start your own school ... there is a huge need for such ... and it would provide so many learning experiences for your kiddos!!
Good morning, all!
Thank you for sharing parts of the Beamer article!!
