I heard about that story. They are such wusses and wimps. I hope the police chief is able to function in his job now that he knows that the watermelons were a gift and not a racial statement. I'm rolling my eyes here.
To: Utah Girl
No kidding. Only someone who thrives on being the victim makes a gift of watermelon out to be a racist gesture. I hope the locals recognize the mindset it takes to make such a big deal out of it, but they're Californians so probably not.

Quiet evening in this joint tonite.

I'm here! Can you see me waving? I have a wedding reception to go to in a bit. Oh goody, my favorite thing to do. :)
To: Utah Girl
Oh yea!!! THERE you are, I SEE YOU NOW..LOL.
It's quiet here tonite, cooled down a tad, so I am catching up with the FR happenings and getting ready to watch a special edition of Big Brother 3 later on. Exciting life eh?? Hows Jacob doing?

I'm glad it is a bit cooler there for you. I complain about the heat here, but we have next to no humidity. I remember the summer I was in NYC, I just about died from the humidity.
I haven't heard anything about Jacob yet. My parents aren't answering their phone, and neither is my brother (Jacob's father.) I'm sure I'd have heard if there was bad news.
When I came home this afternoon, there was a huge box of produce on my front porch with a note from my dad. I made some salsa, yum, with the tomatoes and peppers, and a cucumber salad in vinegar. Lots of green beans, new potatoes, and yellow squash. And I stopped at the corn stand for fresh corn. I just love this time of year.

DearHeart, your dad has our prayers, as do you and your whole family.

Deej, I'm awfully sorry about your dad. Of course, I'll add him to my prayer list. Ya' know, if the worst thing that can be said about a person is that he smokes, then, my goodness, that person is doing ALL RIGHT. Smoking isn't a sin; it's just foolish.
SY, that poe-leesch cheef seems to be one of those people who just look for ways to have their feelings hurt. There is no help for them.

That quilt is a pretty ambitious project. I have no doubt that it will be gracing your wall this yule-tide season. I just took a look at my projects and sighed. I better finish some of them before my hubby has to move them.... AGAIN! LOL!

#153...You mean yesterday?
It was lovely & peaceful :)
We went to a new place.....a little tea shop in old town, and it's in an old 'circa 1919' building & was remodeled as a turn of the century apothecary/tea room.
Jen & I really liked the background music....found out it was the CD of the movie Chocolat...
...then we window shopped, and she bought me coffee later at Heavenly Grounds.....:)

Thank you for all your prayers. Here's a quick update because I can't keep the phone line tied up. My Dad's heart problem was stabilized this afternoon, and so they sent him over to another place for an MRI. From what I gather, the specialist who does the MRI is suppossed to be there. I have not heard anything more since about 3:30-4:00pm. I will let you know if I hear anything else as soon as I can. I don't know when. I am trying to stay positive and keep reminding myself that God is with us.

The quilt is a very ambitious project. But I did the block-of-the-month thing from Keepsake, and made myself finish each block every month. I have six blocks done, three to go, and then the borders, and binding. I'm going to have it quilted, it would take me 20 years to hand quilt it, and my machine quilting leaves something to be desired. I never have problems piecing or appliquing quilt tops, it is just the whole quilt that I have problems finishing. And I love to do embroidery as well, and there is embroidery in the quilt. It's been a fun project. :)

Yum, tomato sandwiches. I haven't made one yet, maybe for lunch tomorrow.
