Lysie....we thought maybe you could find that picture of Little Tommie and Little Dickie on their trikes to post once again. It was a HOOT and I though I had saved it :-(
It is so perfect for their "childish" attitudes these days....Thanks, B

I have an urgent prayer request. My Dad is in the hospital in the CCU. He went to the doctor's yesterday to get his cough checked out because it was getting worse (he does smoke but please don't judge him for that, I still love him). The nurse became very concerned when she checked his heartrate, as it was up to 180bpm. The doctor than did a chest xray and they said it was "cloudy". They sent him to the ER at the hospital because the doctor wanted more tests done. When he got there, they gave him some medicine to try and bring his heart rate down but it wasn't working, so they put him on blood thinners. Then they did a catscan (or an MRI) and they found that he has blood clots on his lungs. They also found what my mother described as a "shadow" in his lower left lung. The ER cardiologist listened to his chest and she said it sounded like pneumonia; however, after the MRI was done, another doctor came in and said it may be fluid there or it may be cancer. They can't do anything right now because his heart is pumping with all 4 ventricles and they are concerned that he would not make it through surgery. They have to be very careful about how quickly they dissolve because if they dissolve too quickly it's very possible that one of the blood clots could break free. I'm sure you all know what that means.
They are bringing in another cardiologist for a 2nd opinion and 2 oncologists to look at the "shadow" or "mass" that is on his lung. What has me very concerned is the fact that he lost 15lbs at the beginning of the summer (he gained back 5lbs since then). He did not eat very much when we were on vacation. My Mom said that he has also been very tired.
We are trying to keep a positive outlook and so is he but as you can imagine, our whole family is devastated and very scared because not only is there a possibility that one of the clots could STILL break loose, but also that he may have lung cancer. The doctor he saw last night said that they would have to do some more tests to see if it was cancer and if it is then they have to check to see if the tumor is removable or not and if it has spread to other parts of his body. However, they are not so much focusing on that as they are in getting heart rate down and getting rid of the clots. There IS still a chance that this is only pneumonia and I am praying that it is only that. However, I am absolutely petrified and being down here doesn't help matters.
If you would, please keep my dad in your thougts and prayers. I am scared to death that I am going to lose him. I know I'm projecting into the future but I can't help it. I am trying to take this one minute/hour/day at a time and one minute I will feel positive and the next I will be shaking with fear.
If there is a Prayer thread here that I haven't seen, would somebody please post a message there? I already have him on the church prayer list and the school prayer list. I have not told the boys yet that their Pop is sick, so I just had the Asst. Principal ask the children to pray for the relative of a student.
