I doubt it. The hospitals probably honestly believed that the situation was hopeless.
It just galls me to see peole rolling the dice and not purchasing health insurance when they can afford luxuries like ski vacations and big screen TV's.

Please, to any person reading this post, read it all before making any judgments.
I have a saying that we are all teachers, learners and doers. Now the quality of each one of those acts can vary greatly. Even the determination of what constitutes quality can vary from one person to the next in regards to each of those.
For example, should a teacher take into account the personal beliefs of the learner/student when handing out a grade?
For example, the WFTD sentence I wrote, what if the learner/student thought the 9th Circuit Court ruling was correct, should the teacher subjectively alter the grade according to the person's belief?
The point is, the learner/student successfully completed the assignment and his or her personal beliefs should not even be an issue with the teacher. For when that happens the slippery slope can easily lead to teachers and doctors asking questions like "do your parents have any guns in the house?" ...And, "do your mommy and daddy argue with each other?" (What parents don't? Albeit some do it better than others. There's the quality issue again.)
Similar has happened to me. In sixth grade I got an A+ on an essay ( I was "C+" student) and because of the nature of the subject I wrote about the school principle denounced my work. I took it in stride and held myself above the fray. As I said the other day, I may be somewhat of an outcast because I don't go along to get along.
Note: The above says nothing about my personal opinion on the 9th Circuit Court's ruling. For that is irrelevant to the assignment at hand (WFTD) and irrelevant to this "learner, teacher, doer" issue I have raised. Also, I'm certainly not the first person on this forum to raise the issue of what constitutes a quality teacher and teaching. (There has been a number of threads regarding teachers questioning students about guns in the house and arguments among parents, etc.)
Finally, this is a legitimate question and in no way implies nor reflects on RikaStrom one way or the other. I merely wanted to raise the quality of the thread. Which obviously is what I think constitutes quality. Almost every poster/Freeper does that to some degree.
BTW Rika, from what I've seen so far you do quite well -- and giving me an A+ has nothing to do with that opinion. Especially since in the last assignment I admitted to being lazy and thought it necessary of myself to put forth the effort to do the assignment as put forth.
I do hope I earned the grade based on merit of completing the assignment as put forth. That I happened to make, IMO, an accurate assessment of Hillary regarding the 9th Circuit Court's ruling is a bonus, or icing on the cake. That we may agree on that I hope didn't influence my grade. Boy, am I ever tough on myself or what!? But you nor anybody else has to shave this face in the mirror each morning.
