Sadly, all Trump had to do was realize -way back in April, that the Iranian regime was not going to fall quickly, that the IRGC had cleverly resorted to horizontal warfare in attacking all the Gulf nations, and that with the midterms looming it was far too risky to keep the conflict going any further until after November 3.
But instead of ending it and declaring victory - or finishing the job, Trump did neither, creating an environment of economic chaos for all Americans - which the Democrats (and their Islamist allies like Tucker Carlson) were able to use against Trump, Israel and their opponents.
This is the equivalent to saying:
“Being against Bush’s war against Saddam is the same as siding with the Iraqi Republican Guard!”
Then why are they trying to capture our military with Section 219 of the NDAA?

LOL I think people are blowing this way out of proportion. Vance is NOT siding with the IRGC, in fact, I read Vance’s statement today on X and a lot of what he said is true, the war with Iran cost them. Trump promised no new wars and he went to war. I think Trump did it in good faith but it failed miserably because he didnt see it through. There was no preparation for the strait to be closed, there was no preparation on the military bases that Iran would retaliate..they took that meeting on Feb 28th and jumped the shark instead of waiting it out. At the time Trump and others had good intentions, but good intentions doesnt go far if you dont finish them off
Good analysis. Trump either got very bad advice from his military advisors or he got good advice and ignored it.
JD Vance probably gets that there is enough resentment for being drawn into a war with Iran that Iran could probably nuke Jerusalem and some Leftist Americans would cheer. Plenty would ambivalent about it.
Republicans in DC have lost the understanding about how bad Israel American relations are among most younger Americans.

Few on the right are calling for abandoning Israel, Vance isn’t calling for this, but Israel must provide evidence that Iran (the case now), or Syria (when Obama was president, his “red line”), etc, has chemical weapons or nukes, or is getting close to them.
Real evidence.
Not lying claims (as was rhe case about WMD’s in Iraq) from Netanyahu before Congress that were false.
34 years now of saying Iran ia close to a nuke. No more.
Bring the evidence before Americans, before the UN, allow BRICS nations and the west to see it.
Otherwise if Israel attacks Iran or wants the U.S. to join ib they are on their own.
I agree with a lot of what you said, but Iran was NEVER going to open that strait so we will always be in the same boat. The only way Iran agrees to anything is if you give them EVERYTHING, allowing them to have a nuke, control the strait forever, etc etc..that is why it was a MISTAKE for Trump to tell Israel not to kill off certain regime members, BIG BIG BIG MISTAKE, you KILL THEM ALL, every single last one of them you can get your paws on, from the top to their bald headed grandmother you kill them all, then negotiate
