Federal Judge James Boasberg, dubbed a "Radical left lunatic" by President Donald Trump, is presiding over several high-profile cases challenging actions made by the Trump administration, raising questions about how judges are assigned to cases.
The scrutiny comes as Boasberg, an Obama-appointed chief judge of the Washington, D.C. district court, oversees a challenge brought by several media outlets seeking to force the Justice Department to unseal the search warrant on the home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., stemming from two federal investigations.
"Judge James Boasberg is now involved with the Ilhan Omar case," Steve Ferguson, a self-described business owner with more than 250,000 followers on X, wrote in a social media post. "Is everything rigged?"
In the federal court of the District of Columbia, cases are assigned to judges randomly by an electronic system managed by the clerk's office operating under the direction of the Calendar and Case Management Committee, according to the rules of the court. The committee consists of three to five judges appointed by the chief justice.
There are exceptions to the random-assignment process. For example, criminal grand jury matters are assigned to and overseen by the chief judge, currently Boasberg. This means Boasberg’s assignment to oversee the fight over unsealing the search warrant for Omar was "not a surprise" to Eric Wessan, Iowa’s solicitor general.
"But there are a lot of cases that seem to be going to judges maybe based on those cases having similarities which is not what the local rules say," Wessan told Fox News Digital.
When a case needs to be reassigned, the Calendar and Case Management Committee will determine how the reassignment is made.
Wessan suggested that concerns over how case assignments are made is valid, considering some of the high-profile cases against the Trump administration which have appeared in...

He is the designated judge who will always support the Democrats. He is a tool. Like Roland Feisler.
Conflict of Interest
Too Hot to Handle
These seem to often be the criteria over the long haul.
It is more often assumed that a judge appointed by the current president is automatically more prejudiced than a judge appointed by a predecessor.
Many judges suddenly become busy with other cases and want to avoid a case that might put them on the spot. Oftentimes a case is a no-win situation for a judge. Regardless of what a judge does in some hot cases, he will be criticized and accused of ugly things.
True for many judges but this Boasberg is not one of them.
He is highly partisan, politically Leftist and tied to progressive nonprofits, NGOs and the deepstate.

Surprised that the POS Trump hating judge Engoron wasn't picked.
Weird that in the thumbnail when I searched Boasberg it resembled the look of the aliens when viewed with the sunglasses from the movie They Live!

Hmm. I wonder why the first post was removed by the moderator. I only glimpsed it, but it didn’t seem that offensive. Did I miss something?
The DC court system is totally corrupt.
Snake-Head Boaconstrictorburg needs to repent of his wicked wayz~!
Bozoburg strikes again!
The clerk admitted that instead of assigning cases randomly they gave the Trump-related cases to the same judge who handled the grand juries of all of them. IOW, when the leftist “investigators” do their lawfare and take stuff to a grand jury, the clerks refuse to let the defendants have a new, fair hearing from a judge not already involved in the lawfare that got them to the trial in the first place. That was in New York, and the clerk openly admitted it. Elise Stefanik spoke out against it because it was a breach of law.
The Deep State’s crimes against we the people most often happen in Washington, DC so those judges are particularly political hacks. Clinton knew that, which is why he had his “Magnificent Seven” (which later became 8) DC Circuit judges who met privately at a restaurant monthly to decide which of them would take which Clinton-related cases. If I remember correctly, nobody was ever punished for it, and I suspect the DC “Inns of Courts” (?) is used for the same purpose - especially when you consider the back-patting and connections between Boasberg, Howell, etc. - all the usual suspects who rule wrongly and have had to be reprimanded by SCOTUS, even if CJ John Roberts is one of their pals.
What’s disgusting is that these judges haven’t yet been strung up at Gitmo.
Which case ? She lied about her age ? She lied about her name ? She lied about marrying her brother? Lied about the fake wine company run by her husband ?
Thanks, Nateman!
