The Department of Labor just made a big announcement, one that will improve the lives of the American working class.
The DOL officially issued a final rule on targeting Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PMBs), which was introduced early this year. You can read more on the final rule here.
Secretary of Labor, Keith Sonderling, and Administrator of the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Mehmet Oz, spoke to a huge crowd at the DOL building and enthusiastically announced the news on the final rule.

Sonderling took the stage and thanked both Oz and Director of White House Domestic Policy, Vince Haley for attending the event and for "everything they are trying to do with the President's agenda with trying to lower healthcare costs and with trying to help American workers."
"Since day one of the administration, President Trump has taken bold action to break down healthcare costs by expanding access to affordable medicine, maximizing competition in healthcare markets, and increasing price transparency throughout the entire healthcare system," Sonderling told TGP.
"The Trump administration is ensuring that no one in the healthcare industry can escape the competition that comes from complete price transparency."
Sonderling then highlighted that this final rule was one of President Trump's main goals with the DOL, which is to "create a rule requiring Pharmacy Benefit Managers to disclose how much money they make managing prescription drug benefits for the employers and their workers."
The rule will also “allow employers to negotiate better deals and lower drug prices for the over seventy-two million Americans on self-insured group healthcare plans.”
Sonderling then told TGP that this rule “for the first time, requires PBMs to disclose all fees and compensation they receive to the employers who hire them,” and thanks to President Trump, the DOL is “making the most significant federal reforms for PBMs in decades.”
Sonderling assured the crowd that this rule will bring down Healthcare costs nationwide.
Oz would then take the stage and address the crowd. He called the announcement “seminal, important, and impactful.”
“Americans deserve affordable Healthcare, and the best way to make things affordable, we believe, is to make things transparent,” Oz told TGP.
“Whenever there’s a dark corner, someone’s making money. When you save twenty-two billion dollars in the Healthcare system, someone is losing twenty-two billion dollars who is making money off that.”
Oz also declared that America should have a “truly competitive capitalist system,” a stark contrast to the modern Democrat Party, which has experienced a sharp rise in socialism.
Oz also enthusiastically announced that his office has joined forces with Vice President JD Vance’s Anti-Fraud Task Force to “achieve outcomes never before imaginable.”
“We’ve taken about fifty billion dollars of costs out of the healthcare just by never letting the money leave the system. So working together with colleagues, even if they’re just across the street, colleagues you’ve probably never worked with before, makes a big deal,” Oz told TGP.
“Today the Department of Labor is making prices and processes clear at every part of the chain that links the different parts of the ecosystem.”

With this new initiative taking almost a year to have a final ruling, President Trump, Keith Sonderling, and the Department of Labor can now take a victory lap and celebrate this big win for the Healthcare industry.
“There has never been a better time to be a worker than under President Trump,” Sonderling declared.

Whew! That’s a lot of reading until you get to what all the fuss is about! They could lead with that.
IF”KATHY” DOES NOT QUIT CALLING ME AT ALL HOURS OF THE DAY WITH A RECORDED MESSAGE ABOUT MY MEDICAL CHOICES I AM GOING TO SUE SOMEONE.....
I’ll put you down for increased calls....
the posted GP article is a mish-mash with a lot of words that looks like it was probably “written” by AI, but fails to disclose the necessary requirements of the new PBM rule and just EXACTLY HOW that will save anyone money. Here’s what’s really going on:
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) finalized a sweeping rule on October 29, 2026, requiring Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) to make full, granular disclosures of their fees and financial compensation to self-funded employer-sponsored group health plans.
Key Requirements of the Final Rule
• Effective Date: Applies to plan years beginning on or after July 1, 2027 (60 days after final publication in the Federal Register).
• Mandatory Disclosures: PBMs must disclose all direct and indirect compensation, including:
• Manufacturer rebates, price protection payments, and formulary placement incentives.
• “Spread pricing” (the margin kept by a PBM when a health plan pays more for a drug than the PBM reimburses the dispensing pharmacy).
• Financial arrangements with group purchasing organizations (GPOs), brokers, and consultants.
• Payments or fees recouped from pharmacies.
• Audit Rights: Plan sponsors gain the legal right to conduct annual audits using an auditor of their choice, with PBMs required to hand over complete transaction-level data and records.
• Enforcement & Scope: Backed by ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) prohibited transaction rules, meaning noncompliance can result in severe financial penalties or contract invalidation. It applies primarily to self-insured employer health plans with 100 or more workers.
We get those too!..............Every election season.....Congress specifically exempted the political calls from the DO NOT CALL LISTS..........
I am getting bombarded by phone calls exhorting me to vote! In October, easily 100 phone calls to vote in midterms! This never happened before. The Medicare Advantage choices calls are about the same as in previous years. Political calls bigger by orders of magnitude.
My medicare Insurance company sent me a $50 credit card for food & non-prescription medical costs. They then billed the government $295 to send me $50. There are many illogical things in the system.
That’s how Medicare Insurance makes a profit, sometimes insane profits. They bill the govt for much more than the benefits they deliver.
